Council Capital and DW Healthcare successfully exit Caregiver in sale to Windrose Health Investors

Council Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity firm based in Nashville, and co-investor DW Healthcare Partners, a Toronto-based healthcare-focused private equity firm, have sold their stakes in Caregiver to WindRose Health Investors (WindRose), while retaining a small equity ownership. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Caregiver, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, is a provider of long-term care services and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Caregiver’s professional staff members are dedicated to improving each client’s quality of life with the design, delivery, and management of personalised treatment plans. Caregiver and its branded affiliates provide intermediate, home and community care services to thousands of individuals in Texas, Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio.

“We sincerely enjoyed partnering with the team at Caregiver. During our partnership, Caregiver was able to leverage the CEO Council Model to evaluate and enter new geographies through acquisition and leverage Council’s Shared Portfolio Executives to help support its rapid growth. We are excited to watch the company further leverage that foundation as it continues its growth trajectory,” says Eric Keen, General Partner at Council Capital.

Aly Champsi, Partner at DW Healthcare Partners, says: “We are pleased to have been a part of Caregiver’s growth and success. This sale is the consummation of the team’s efforts to implement and deliver the initiatives identified together at acquisition. We are confident that the company will continue to thrive in partnership with WindRose.”

Mark Lashley, CEO of Caregiver, adds: “We have valued our partnership with Council Capital and DW Healthcare Partners over the last several years. They supported us with the right mix of resources and a curated network to help us execute consistently. We are excited to have WindRose as a partner in helping us to achieve our next set of goals.”
