CPE invests EUR8m in NEURA GmbH

Climate Change Capital Private Equity LP (CPE), a EUR200 million fund dedicated to investments in clean technology companies, has invested EUR8m in NEURA GmbH, an Austrian renewable technology company focused on manufacturing smartgrid enabled, high performance heat pumps for both residential and commercial properties.

Currently NEURA manufactures some of the most sophisticated, technically advanced and efficient heat pumps in the world. They offer 15-20% greater efficiency than their nearest rivals, are smaller, easier and faster to install and offer the only smart-grid enabled operating system currently available in the market. This investment by CPE will support NEURA’s vision of becoming Europe’s leading high performance heat pump manufacturer transforming the company’s current technology leadership into market leadership.

Bruno Derungs (pictured), a founding partner of CPE, who will be joining the board of NEURA, says: “We have been researching the heat pump market extensively and found that NEURA not only provides a full range of world class heat pumps, but has also produced the only heat pump that is fully smart-grid enabled, offering unique functionalities for utilities to build power storage networks.”

Hannes Jakob, Chief Executive Officer of NEURA GmbH, says: “We are delighted that such a well-regarded, experienced, knowledgeable and well-connected cleantech investor such as CPE is investing in NEURA and we look forward to building the company’s vision in partnership with CPE. CPE has decided to invest in NEURA after a thorough investigation of our business strategy, technology and product roadmap, management team and future prospects. This funding round gives us the resources we need to promote NEURA’s offering as the product of choice for performance conscious customers across Europe.”
