Dunedin, the mid-market private equity house, has hired David Williams as a director in its London office.
Williams will be responsible for sourcing and executing new investments for Dunedin’s GBP250m buyout fund.
Ross Marshall, chief executive of Dunedin, says: “I have known David for over 20 years and am delighted that we have persuaded him to join Dunedin. He was instrumental in Dunedin’s successful acquisition of Sand Aire Private Equity in 2005.”
Williams says: “Exciting times lie ahead for the business. The portfolio is in great shape and the firm has significant firepower to invest. The next two years will prove to be a good time to deploy capital with dealflow increasing as the country recovers from a deep recession.”
Williams joins Dunedin from Graphite Capital where he was a senior partner between 2005 and 2010. Prior to that he was managing director of Sand Aire Private Equity between 1997 and 2005. He began his private equity career at 3i in Cardiff and London where he was an investment director.
