DC Advisory Partners grows financial sponsors group

DC Advisory Partners has appointed Andrew Strudwick as an Executive Director in its European Financial Sponsors Group. Strudwick will join Simon Tilley’s team, which provides a focal point for DC’s interaction with the private equity community. He will be based in London.

Strudwick’s last role was at 3i Group PLC (“3i”) where he had worked as an Investment Director since 2006. Andrew co-founded 3i’s UK TMT team and took a lead role on key transactions such as the GBP350m take-private of Civica plc, engaging on all aspects of the investment cycle. Outside of TMT, Andrew has worked on high-profile transactions including NCP’s disposal of its car parks business and the take-private of Inspicio plc.

In a career that has been corporate finance focused throughout, Andrew also spent six years as a director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Simon Tilley, Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Group, says: “Having worked on both the sides of the transaction process, within a PE house and as an adviser, I am confident that Andrew will add valuable insight and enhance our team’s origination and advisory capabilities. Our creative approach to transacting is fundamental to our service and Andrew’s experience will compliment this greatly.”

Strudwick says: “Given the extensive international reach provided by DC’s parent company, with direct access to financial sponsor coverage resources in Asia, the USA and the Nordic countries, this will be a very international role and I am very excited to be taking it on”

So far in 2012 DC has advised on the sale processes of CPA Global, Volution, Bonmarché and the USD1.12bn sale of Capital Safety Group, all of which were acquired by Private Equity investors.
