DCP Capital, a private equity firm focused on investments in Greater China led by former executives from KKR and Morgan Stanley, is to acquire agribusiness giant Cargill’s poultry business in the country, according to a report by Reuters.
The acquisition of Cargill Protein China, which is expected to close this year, is subject to regulatory approvals and includes chicken farms in Chuzhou in eastern Anhui province and related manufacturing sites.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed
Cargill started its China poultry operations in 2011 and added a $48.8 million plant to its operations in 2019.
