RSK Group Ltd, an integrated environmental, engineering and technical services consultancy, has acquired two businesses – Biocensus, an ecological consultancy and Consents Solutions Ltd, a wayleave business.  The acquisitions are the first of this financial year. In the 2018/2019 financial year, RSK acquired 12 businesses and expanded its workforce from about 2000 staff to more than 3000. Biocensus is a leading ecological consultancy with a network of more than 700 highly skilled and experienced UK-based ecologists. The company has offices in Bath and Stroud, UK, and works on a wide range of projects with a focus on large infrastructure developments.
Sensio AS, a Norwegian software provider for the care tech and smart home markets and a portfolio company of Longship Fund I, has made a new add-on acquisition with a deal to acquire Vesfold Audio. Vestfold Audio is a Norwegian provider of alerting systems for people with hearing impairment and cognitive challenges, and of high-quality sound systems for classrooms.  Combined, the two companies become a forceful player within the Norwegian care tech market, with a broad portfolio of solutions and products. KPS Capital Partners (KPS), through a newly formed affiliate, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the fitness business of Brunswick Corporation, including the Life Fitness brand (Life Fitness) for approximately USD490 million in cash. Anacapa Partners, a private equity firm focused on acquisitions in the lower middle market, has sold Krueger-Gilbert Health Physics (KGHP), a diagnostic medical physics provider, to Blue Sea Capital LLC. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Towson, Maryland, KGHP is a market-leading, full-service, comprehensive diagnostic medical and health physics consulting group. KGHP’s client-focused team of physicists provides critical compliance services to some of the most progressive hospitals, imaging networks, private practices and research facilities nationwide. Gen Cap America, a private equity firm focused on lower middle market buyouts, has sold Alpha Technics to TE Connectivity. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Alpha Technics designs, develops and produces precision temperature measurement solutions for a variety of high growth medical technology and industrial customers including leading medical device, diagnostic and life sciences OEMs. Alpha Technics’ products include sensors and sensor assemblies for patient monitoring and medical equipment; high accuracy temperature verification kits used to insure diagnostic and life science equipment and manufacturing operations are running at ideal temperatures for test accuracy and regulatory compliance; and
ClearCourse Partnership has acquired Crafty Clicks, a specialist data provider and address validation platform. Crafty Clicks is ClearCourse’s seventh acquisition since its foundation in October 2018, representing an expansion of the Partnership’s technological capabilities. Crafty Clicks was founded in 2008 to provide the UK market with a postcode lookup and validation solution. Since its foundation the company’s scope has expanded significantly, and it now offers clients international address data spanning over 240 countries and regions. The company provides clients’ websites, ERP, CRM and POS systems with full-service integration of its address validation service through its market-leading application programming interface (API).
SunBridge Partners (SBP), a venture capital firm targeting investments in enterprise software specialists in the US and Japan, has sold its holdings in Kyriba Japan, a Japan-based joint venture between Kyriba Corporation (Kyriba) and SunBridge, as part of Bridgepoint’s recent investment in Kyriba. SunBridge Partners teamed with Kyriba in 2012 to help establish its Japan operations via SBP’s proven Japan-entry Joint Venture (JV) model. Private investment and alternative finance specialist IW Capital has provided a GBP1.83 million loan to Inglenook Inns and Taverns Limited. The loan represents the latest funding round for Inglenook to help grow and consolidate its regional presence across the North West of England. The business will use the loan to further expand its portfolio and underpins the next stage in the development of the company through the acquisition of another three freehold/long leasehold sites and the provision of growth capital.
