Investment manager Downing has sold Osprey Green Power Limited, the fifth exit by its funds from a series of seven hydro investments based in Scotland and managed by Gilkes Energy Limited. Downing has worked closely with Gilkes Energy, a specialist hydro developer, since September 2013, investing some GBP20 million of EIS equity across seven projects. These seven projects are now fully operational, all having been built on time and to budget.   Downing has exited five of these projects to GHI Holdings Limited – a company which owns and operates a portfolio of operational hydro projects. Private equity firm Key Capital Partners (KCP) enjoyed a successful end to 2018 following the exit of three portfolio companies in the last quarter of the year, generating a combined return of three times the initial investment, and with a total value of over GBP50 million. In October, the firm sold its interest in glass processor MI Glass, based in Smethwick in the West Midlands, to the management team in a multi-million pound deal backed by Clydesdale Bank. Rand Capital Corporation (RAND) has entered into a stock purchase agreement to sell approximately 8.3 million shares of common stock to East Asset Management (EAM) for USD25 million in cash and assets. The purchase price of USD3.00 per share represents a 33 per cent premium over the 24 January, 2019 closing price of USD2.26 per share. Rehacon is headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, from where it runs more than 100 therapy centres, making it one of the largest providers on the market in continental Europe.
