Real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield is to acquire Quality Solutions Inc (QSI), an asset-light facilities management provider, from Gridiron Capital. The acquisition of QSI will expand Cushman & Wakefield’s facility management capabilities across North American markets.
Headquartered in Wichita, QSI offers facilities maintenance and managed services in over 75 trades to 110,000-plus locations across various end markets, through over 50,000 qualified vendors. The Company’s integrated, one-stop solution reduces a client’s total cost of ownership and enables clients to strategic plan effectively.

Oak Hill Capital Partners (Oak Hill) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) have entered into a definitive recapitalisation agreement with Berlin Packaging.
As part of the arrangement, CPPIB will make a USD500 million investment in the company. The Berlin Packaging management team, including Chairman and CEO Andrew Berlin, will also make a significant investment. Additional financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2018.

Addleshaw Goddard’s Leeds Corporate team has advised the management of Pirtek Europe on the exit of The Halifax Group’s majority stake in the company, and acquisition by PNC Riverarch Capital, also a US-based private equity firm.

Spectro, headquartered in Chelmsford, MA, provides predictive analytics for maintenance of critical assets, comprised of sophisticated instrumentation, consumables, proprietary algorithms and cloud-based software analytics, to a range of industrial and military customers. Spectro’s customers use its solutions to increase asset availability, reduce operating expenses and increase productivity.

Private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners (Sentinel) has acquired Apex Companies, a water resources, environmental services, and industrial hygiene firm.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CPDQ) is taking an equity interest totalling CAD200 million in Plusgrade, a provider of revenue solutions to the global travel industry. The transaction values Plusgrade at over CAD600 million.
With this backing, the company will continue to execute its expansion plan, which includes penetrating new international markets and expanding its suite of products. Since its founding in Montréal in 2009, Plusgrade has become one of the fastest growing technology companies, and was ranked in Deloitte’s Canadian Technology Fast 50 list in 2016 and 2017.
