Cybersecurity firm Perception Point has raised USD8 million in Series A funding round led by Pitango Venture Capital, along with State of Mind Ventures (SOMV) and Korea Investment Partners (KIP).
The company already offers an advanced email protection solution, and will use the funds to expand its global presence and product portfolio. Rami Kalish from Pitango will join Pinhas Buchris from SOMV on the Perception Point board of directors.

Finnish fintech company Zervant, which provides online invoicing software for small business and entrepreneurs across Europe, has secured EUR6 million in a funding round led by Tesi, along with Northzone, NFT Ventures and Conor Venture Partners.
Headquartered in Espoo, Finland, Zervant offers simple, intuitive invoicing software. It’s already used by 20,000 business customers across seven countries, with 85 per cent of current growth coming from France, Germany and the UK.

Harris Williams & Co has advised Duke Street Private Equity (Duke Street) on its acquisition of A-ROSA. The transaction was led by Edward Arkus, Will Bain and Danielius Uznys of Harris Williams & Co.’s Consumer Group.

NorthEdge Capital has invested in stairlift designer and manufacturer Platinum Stairlifts, backing the existing management team led by Founder, Tim Frear.
Based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, Platinum Stairlifts manufactures a full suite of stairlift products. The company employs over 100 staff and distributes to more than 40 countries worldwide, including France, Germany, the Netherlands and USA, through its network of authorised dealers.

Foresight Group (Foresight) has invested several million pounds of growth capital from Foresight VCT (FVCT) into PowerLinks Media Limited (PowerLinks).
The investment completes a larger Series A round of funding, with additional participation from leading angel investors and PowerLinks management.

An affiliate of Blue Wolf Capital Fund IV has acquired a majority stake in Petrosmith, a provider of production equipment and oilfield tubular goods (OCTG) to the domestic oil and gas industry. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Petrosmith manufactures a broad suite of tanks (including oilfield storage tanks and gun barrel tanks) and vessels (including heater treaters, separators and vapour recovery towers) used by large E&P companies primarily in the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford and Mid-Continent region. The Company also sells a variety of new and used OCTG and provides a wide array of OCTG refurbishment services.
Investment and strategic advisory firm Brown Advisory is teaming up with network-driven venture capital firm, NextGen Venture Partners (NextGen).The NextGen team will officially join their new Brown Advisory colleagues in offices across the United States from 22 February.

Bowmark Capital, a mid-market private equity firm, is backing the buy-out of ASK4 Limited, a fast-growing internet solutions provider.
Founded in Sheffield in 2000 by its chief executive, Jonathan Burrows, ASK4 partners with universities, private sector student accommodation providers, residential apartment developers and businesses, to provide high speed internet solutions and managed data services for multi-tenant accommodation.
ASK4 currently services 160,000 customers in more than 400 sites in the UK and Europe. The business has grown strongly due to its highly differentiated proposition, focus on customer service, and the increasing levels of investment in multi-tenant accommodation.

Funds managed by private equity firm Stone Point Capital (Stone Point) are to buy a majority interest in Genex Services (Genex), a provider of cost containment services to the workers’ compensation, disability and auto industries, from funds advised by Apax Partners.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018.
