AREAM and Greentale Capital have established a joint venture that will leverage the combined experience of two teams in the renewable energy and investment management industries.
The joint venture will assist institutional investors to gain high-quality exposure to investment opportunities in the renewable energy industry.
Initially, the joint venture will provide specialised investment management and fundraising advisory services to a forthcoming investment vehicle, which will enable institutional investors to seize significant returns while simultaneously diversifying their portfolios by investing in the renewable energy industry.

Bowmark Capital, a mid-market private equity firm, is backing the buy-out of IT solutions provider Node4 Holdings from its previous institutional investor, LDC.
Founded in Derby in 2004 by its then 23 year old chief executive Andrew Gilbert, Node4 is a provider of integrated IT solutions, hybrid infrastructure and cloud-enabled managed services to small and medium-sized businesses.
With full ownership of its own infrastructure, including three state-of-the-art data centres in Derby, Leeds and Northampton, Node4 retains full control over service delivery.

Transaction activity in the infrastructure remains healthy, with 289 deals worth an aggregate USD75 billion, a slight drop in the number of deals and combined deal value for a second successive quarter.
Preqin says this drop is due to the high levels of activity seen in the first half of the year; 318 deals were concluded in Q2 for a total of USD99 billion, while Q1 was a record quarter with 437 deals financed for an all-time high USD103 billion.

NVM Private Equity has backed a management buy-out (MBO) at Presteigne Broadcast Hire, a specialist in the broadcast equipment hire sector in the UK.
The business hires a selection of specialist equipment predominantly to outside broadcast companies with a particular focus on the live sport and event sector.
Founded by industry veteran Mike Ransome, Presteigne invests in the latest products and emerging technologies. Headquartered in Crawley and with additional facilities in Warrington, Presteigne has supported many global sporting events. PNC Bank Canada Branch has completed a CAD17.1 million financing package for Doxim Solutions ULC, a provider of SaaS customer engagement solutions for banks, credit unions and wealth management firms in North America.
The PNC financing included a CAD1.9 million senior secured revolver with a CAD15.2 million senior secured term loan.
The company will use the funds to refinance existing debt and for ongoing working capital.
Doxim, based in Markham, Ontario, is founder-led and a portfolio company of Strattam Capital, a private equity firm with offices in San Francisco, CA and Austin, TX.

HIG WhiteHorse, a credit affiliate of global investment firm HIG Capital, has supported Gotha Cosmetics’ acquisition by Capvis Equity IV, a fund advised by Capvis Equity Partners, by providing funding to support a EUR65 million unitranche facility arranged by Credit Suisse.
Gotha Cosmetics is a developer and manufacturer of private label cosmetics mainly focusing on lips, eyes and face products. Based in Italy, Gotha Cosmetics was founded in 2005 and has become a key partner for both independent beauty brands and multi-national customers evolving towards more outsourcing-based production models.

Mid-market private equity investor LDC has backed the management buyout of PAW Holdings to support the company’s growth strategy.
Founded by Alan Walker in 2001, PAW designs, manufactures and installs pre-engineered light gauge building systems.
Headquartered in Skipton, North Yorkshire, the business is on track to achieve revenues of GBP23 million this financial year.
The business employs more than 80 people across its sites which include locations in Skipton, Brighouse, Evesham and Glasgow.
Following LDC’s investment, the management team plans to further invest in its manufacturing capabilities and service offering.

Allied Minds and GE Ventures have formed an alliance to jointly identify and commercialise next-generation technologies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Allied Minds and GE Ventures agree to invest in new and existing technologies sourced from both Allied Minds and GE’s innovation pipelines.
The alliance expands Allied Minds’ network of research and development partners to include GE’s early stage technologies in healthcare, transportation, energy, and big data.
Allied Minds receives an exclusive right of first refusal to license certain technologies, chosen by GE, which are of strategic interest to the companies.

Energy-focused private equity funds manager TPH Partners has formed a partnership with Antioch Energy, an Oklahoma City oil and gas exploration and production company.
With roots dating back three generations in oil and gas, Antioch Energy is led by Kevin Dunnington, chief executive officer, and Nathaniel Harding, president.
Antioch Energy changed its name from Harding & Shelton Exploration when the formative transaction closed earlier this month.
