Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB) is to acquire alternative fund administrator Butterfield Fulcrum. Established in 1927, MUTB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (‘MUFG’), the fifth largest global bank holding company ranked by assets.

Kennet Partners, the technology growth investor, and Fidelity Growth Partners Europe (FGPE), the pan-European growth investor, have acquired Rivo Software, a software company based in Warwick, UK.
Rivo Software is a provider of environmental, health and safety, quality and loss prevention management software. Founded eight years ago, the company helps businesses manage compliance and business risk through its cloud-based software. The company’s products are used in 82 countries, in 32 languages by over 140,000 people. Clients include ABB, BP, Chevron, Crossrail, Siemens, Thames Water, Veolia, and many others.
Simultaneous with the acquisition, Kennet Partners and Fidelity Growth Partners
Apax Partners, Altamir, LBO France and Nixen have signed an exclusive agreement with Bain Capital for the sale of Maisons du Monde, a specialist home decoration and furniture retailer.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
Apax Partners and LBO France acquired a majority stake in Maisons du Monde in April 2008 partnering with its founder and chief executive Xavier Marie, the company’s management team, and Nixen.

Vertos Medical, a specialist in treatments for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS), has closed a financing of almost USD23m.
The proceeds will be used to fund US commercial expansion and the launch of mild in European markets.
The financing was led by Pitango Venture Capital and joined by existing investors including ONSET Ventures, CHL Medical Partners, Foundation Medical Partners, Mercury Fund and Aweida Venture Partners.

Personetics, a provider of predictive customer engagement solutions for the banking industry, has completed its series B funding of USD11.5m, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with existing investors Sequoia Capital and Carmel Ventures.
This investment will be used to drive sales and scale operations to meet the growing demand for predictive solutions that transform the digital experience for banking customers.

A consortium of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Titan International and One Equity Partners (OEP) has reached an agreement in principle with Cordiant to invest in Voltyre-Prom, a Russian agricultural and industrial tyre manufacturer.
The transaction is expected to be finalised in the near future.
As result of the investment the consortium will own a controlling stake in Voltyre-Prom, with Titan International becoming its managing partner. The consortium’s investment will allow Voltyre-Prom to update its operations, grow its production of specialty tires for international agricultural machinery, reduce imports by shifting production to Russia and begin to explore
The Abraaj Group is to acquire a 100 per cent stake in Fan Milk International (FMI), a West African manufacturer and distributor of frozen dairy products and juices.
Established over 50 years ago, FMI currently operates through subsidiaries in the rapidly growing markets of Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Benin and Burkina Faso. Optimum Energy has completed a USD12.2m financing round, led by new investor Navitas Capital (backed by a venture capital advisory relationship with Johnson Controls) and including existing investor Columbia Pacific Advisors.
