Lovell Minnick Partners (LMP), a private equity firm focused on investments in financial services, financial technology and business services companies, has added Ron Austin to the firm’s Advisory Council.
Austin will assist LMP in all phases of its insurance investments, as well as introduce operational improvements to existing insurance related portfolio companies.
Austin was most recently an Executive Vice President in the Amwins Group, a leading global independent wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products. Prior to this, he served as President of former LMP portfolio company, Worldwide Facilities, a wholesale insurance broker, managing general agent, and program underwriter.

Odyssey Investment Partners (Odyssey), a growth-oriented middle-market private equity firm, is to acquire Magna Legal Services (Magna), a litigation support services provider, from CIVC Partners (CIVC). Financial terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter, have not been disclosed.
Magna provides litigation support services to over 13,000 law firms, corporations, insurance carriers, and government agencies.

Nelo’s recently launched all-in-one app enables customers to pay in instalments at any online merchant, through a partnership with Mastercard. Nelo’s app is the first of its kind in Mexico and allows users to finance everyday necessities like utility bills, cellular plans, and other e-commerce purchases.

Vista Equity Partners (Vista), a global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, has exited its investment in Ping Identity, the intelligent identity solution for the enterprise and a Vista portfolio company since 2016, following the completion of the previously announced acquisition of the company by Thoma Bravo for $2.8 billion.
Vista’s June 2016 investment came after the team had carefully researched the broader Identity and Access Management space and spent time establishing a strong relationship with Ping Identity’s founder Andre Durand. Priority Power Management (Priority Power), a specialist in energy optimisation and infrastructure and a portfolio company of Ara Partners and OakTree Capital Management, has acquired the regulatory advisory experts and Texas-based renewable energy offtake and consulting business of AB Power Advisors.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
This transaction is Priority Power’s third major acquisition in the past 18 months, and its second in the past 60 days.

Mubadala Capital, the global asset management firm and a wholly owned subsidiary of sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company, has acquired AOG, d/b/a TruFood Manufacturing (TruFood), in partnership with management.
TruFood, a leading snack food contract manufacturer in several categories, is being acquired from funds affiliated with AUA Private Equity Partners, LLC.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The acquisition is expected to deliver significant value to TruFood’s stakeholders, including its existing customers and employees, while bolstering the company’s competitive advantage, increasing its market reach, advancing product development, and accelerating long-term growth.
Mubadala Capital manages a diverse portfolio
Global VC investment is likely to continue to fall throughout the final quarter of 2022 as Q3 sees the third consecutive drop in deals and funding value, according to the Q3 2022 edition of Venture Pulse – a quarterly report, published by KPMG Private Enterprise.
The report, which analyses key VC deals and trends globally, reveals that global VC funding fell to a nine-quarter low of $87 billion in Q3 2022, with levels not seen since 2020 in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
