AmeriVet Veterinary Partners (AmeriVet), a consolidator of US veterinary practices, has closed a USD1.6 billion recapitalisation with funds managed by AEA Investors LP (AEA) and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) acquiring the company from Imperial Capital Group (Imperial Capital).
AmeriVet’s recapitalisation was a resounding success for both investors and joint venture partners. Investors in AmeriVet, including the majority investor, Imperial Capital, earned a 6.6 times multiple of capital on their investment. Solace Capital Partners (Solace) has acquired Sun Mountain Sports, Inc (Sun Mountain), a producer of golf equipment and apparel, from founder and golf industry innovator Rick Reimers.
The Company will remain headquartered in Missoula, Montana, and will continue to be led by its current management team, including long-time executive Ed Kowachek, who will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, and Blake Ludwig, Chief Financial Officer.
Reimers will retain ownership of Sun Mountain Motor Sports, which produces electric golf carts under the Finn Scooters brand.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Inflexion has led the buyout of Astrak Group, a European specialist distributor of parts for construction equipment, with the founding family continuing to be involved with the business.
The investment is being made from the Inflexion Buyout Fund VI, which recently closed at GBP2.5 billion.
Fife-based Astrak was founded in 2003 in Denmark and has grown to become a market leader in undercarriage and wear parts for construction equipment, employing over 100 people across its seven locations across Europe.
