London-based unified communications firm TelcoSwitch has secured a substantial investment to fund the acquisition of SureVoIP, the firm’s third acquisition in just seven months. As part of this deal, TelcoSwitch will gain an Aberdeen office, its third regional office in the UK, and will incorporate the SureVoIP team into the wider TelcoSwitch Group, broadening the company’s presence in northern UK regions. Livingbridge, a UK-based mid-market private equity investors, has invested in social media publishing business, Jungle Creations. The investment was made through Livingbridge’s Enterprise 3 fund, which invests in fast-growth SMEs.
Worldwide Produce (WWP), a portfolio company of industrial-focused private equity firm Sole Source Capital, has acquired Vision Produce (VP), a premier importer and distributor of fresh produce to US and Canadian markets. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Established in 1980 with facilities in both Los Angeles and Phoenix, Vision Produce is a fresh produce importer and distributor selling primarily to retail, wholesale, and foodservice distribution customers in the Western United States. Private equity firm Parallel49 Equity has closed closing the sale of Indianapolis-based Kinetrex Energy to Kinder Morgan, (NYSE – KMI) for USD310 million. Parallel49’s Fund V acquired Kinetrex in December 2016. Kinetrex is a supplier of liquefied natural gas in the Midwest and a rapidly growing player in producing and supplying renewable natural gas (RNG) under long-term contracts to transportation service providers. Bitcoin infrastructure firm Blockstream has raised USD210 million as part of a Series B financing on a valuation of USD3.2 billion. Investors include Baillie Gifford and iFinex. The new funding comes alongside the acquisition of Spondoolies’ intellectual property, and the core team joining Blockstream to build Blockstream’s ASIC arm. Spondoolies is a bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer founded by top Israeli semiconductor veterans. Private investment firm Auxo Investment Partners has acquired Altus Industries Inc, a Grand Rapids, MI-based designer, manufacturer, assembler and marketer of medical, point-of-care workstations used across the healthcare industry.  As part of the deal, Spectrum Health Ventures, one of Altus’s larger customers, will join as a strategic partner in the transaction.   Serving the healthcare sector, Altus’s product portfolio includes powered and non-powered mobile technology workstations (also known as workstations on wheels, medical mobile carts or mobility workstations) and wall-mounted workstations, along with related accessories.
