Build-to-rent and PBSA investor Amro Partners has launched a venture capital arm in order to invest in proptech and fintech start-ups that are looking to solve pain points in property deal processes.  Amro’s first investment is in the residential property transaction platform Coadjute, which digitally connects buyers, sellers and professional parties on a single network.  Using blockchain technology, Coadjute is an open network which seeks to allow all parties involved in a property transaction to share information and documents through their existing software, cut costs, reduce the risk of fall-throughs and speed up the process of buying and selling homes.  Following three pilots, Coadjute will use this
Browne Jacobson’s Corporate Technology team has advised Agilico Bidco Limited (Agilico), a workplace technology business, on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Diamond Group (Holdings) Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Agilico specialises in providing leading workplace technology solutions to a customer base of 11,000 including: managed print, information management, agile working and telecoms and IT.  The investment will support Agilico’s strategic plans for expansion and will strengthen its offering in the North region. Aksiom Services Group, a partnership between Ara Partners and the Aksiom Group, has acquired Anesco Holdings, the parent company of the Anesco Group, for an undisclosed sum.   Anesco joins the group’s growing portfolio of companies who are developing and building low carbon infrastructure and helping accelerate global decarbonisation.     As a UK market leader in renewable energy, Anesco manages the development, design, construction, maintenance and market optimisation of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.     The company has developed and constructed more than 115 solar farms and energy storage facilities, including the UK’s first solar farm free
The Heubach Group (Heubach), in partnership with SK Capital Partners (SK Capital), is to acquire Clariant’s Pigments Business (Clariant Pigments).  The combined business will operate under the Heubach name, creating a global pigments leader generating more than EUR900 million in annual sales.   The transaction values Clariant Pigments at approximately CHF805 million, with additional consideration of CHF50 million contingent on the 2021 financial performance of the business unit. As part of the transaction, Clariant will be reinvesting for a minority stake in the combined business, demonstrating its continuing commitment to the success of Clariant Pigments and the substantial growth opportunity
Fresha, a beauty and wellness software platform, has secured USD100 million in a Series C investment round led by General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, with strategic participation from Huda Kattan of HB Investments and the founder of Huda Beauty, as well as Michael Zeisser of FMZ Ventures, former Chairman Investments at Alibaba Group, and Jonathan Green of Lugard Road Capital.  Fresha’s existing global investors Partech, Target Global and FJ Labs also participated in the round, bringing the company’s total fundraising to USD132 million to date. Globeleq, Africa’s independent power producer, and the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), the infrastructure development and finance organisation, have officially broken ground on a 9MWp solar and 7MWh storage power project at Cuamba in northern Mozambique, bringing clean power and jobs to the region.  Globeleq is majority owned by CDC Group, the UK’s development finance institution (DFI) and impact investor.   The USD32 million project marks a major milestone as it will be one of the first IPP grid-scale storage plants in sub-Saharan Africa. Paul Hastings LLP, a global law firm, is advising Six BidCo Ltd (a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of investment funds managed by PineBridge Benson Elliot) on its acquisition of Sigma Capital Group plc, a provider of Private Rented Sector housing in the UK.  The boards of Six Bidco Ltd and Sigma Capital Group plc this morning announced they have reached agreement on the terms and conditions of a recommended cash offer by Six Bidco for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Sigma.  The Acquisition values the entire issued ordinary share capital of Sigma at approximately GBP188.4 million
The pan-European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital, through one of its portfolio companies, Electrum Holding Sàrl, has entered into an exclusivity agreement with Element Solutions Inc, for the purpose of the sale of its stake in Coventya, an international specialty chemicals business headquartered in France, generating a 2.5x gross money multiple. Completion of the transaction is expected to occur by Q3 or Q4 2021.  Founded in 1927, Coventya is a leading developer and manufacturer of specialty chemicals used for surface treatment within the General Metal Finishing plating industry.  The firm operates in 60 countries across four continents, employing c700 staff
