Onecom has acquired its closest rival, Olive Communications, in a move which creates one of the largest business-to-business mobile, fixed-line and cloud specialists in the UK.
Together, Onecom and Olive will provide services to more than 500,000 corporate and business end users this year, generating combined annual turnover of more than GBP140 million.
The acquisition was supported with follow-on funding from mid-market private equity firm LDC, which invested in Onecom in a GBP100 million deal in July 2019 to fuel the Hampshire-based business’s ambitious three-year growth strategy. Bunker Hill Capital, a Boston-based private equity investor in lower middle market companies, has sold Taos Mountain (Taos), a San Jose-based multi-cloud consulting firm, to IBM.
Bunker Hill Capital acquired Taos in August 2015 and was joined in the transaction with equity, senior debt and subordinated debt financing from Ric Urrutia, Abacus Finance Group, GMB Capital Partners and Brookside Mezzanine Partners.

BlackRock Long Term Private Capital (LTPC) announces it has reached an agreement to acquire Aquila Heywood, a UK based market leader in pensions administration software and services.
The investment will enable Aquila Heywood to further grow its highly innovative suite of software solutions, supporting the current and future needs of a fast-growing customer base within the Pensions sector.
The existing management team, led by CEO Andy Ross, remain fully committed to leading the business and driving the next phase of the company’s growth.
The partnership with Aquila Heywood is BlackRock LTPC’s third investment overall and second in Europe.
IW Capital has completed an oversubscribed GBP800k investment in the latest round of a GBP2.9 million raise for Ubamarket LTD.
Ubamarket LTD – founded in 2016 – is a pioneer of ‘Scan Pay Go’ technology, offering solutions to providing the fastest ‘in and out’ visit to supermarkets, through features such as aisle sat-nav, automated lists, facial recognition and till-less check out. Sovereign Capital Partners’ portfolio company ACOLIN, a provider of regulatory and cross-border fund distribution services, has acquired Fundbase, a digital fund distribution and data management business, from Swiss FinTech business Nectar Digital Wealth.
This is ACOLIN’s first acquisition since Sovereign backed the MBO of the business in June 2020 to further develop its client base and service offering through a strategy of organic and acquisitive growth.

Mid-market private equity firm LDC has exited its investment in ADEY, a UK specialist in solutions to protect water-based heating systems, to Polypipe Group plc (Polypipe), a provider of sustainable water and climate management solutions for the built environment.
The transaction values the business at GBP210 million.
Gloucestershire-headquartered ADEY specialises in the design, manufacture, and supply of innovative products and services that significantly improve the effectiveness of domestic and commercial heating and cooling systems and water treatment systems.

BGF has exited its investment in Arcinova, a UK-based multi-service contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO).
Following a period of growth and expansion, the business has been acquired by Quotient Sciences, a drug development and manufacturing accelerator, backed by the global private equity firm Permira.

New Age Meats (trading name for Simply Foods, Inc), a cultivated and plant-based meat startup with an initial focus on pork, and a portfolio company of Agronomics, has raised a further USD2 million via convertible debt.
