Global private equity & credit infrastructure investment firm Denham Capital has appointed Rick Drescher as an operating partner. Drescher joins the Sustainable Infrastructure business, supporting their global investment strategy of deploying on-site, reliable power solutions to help data centre developers and hyperscalers energise their facilities ahead of full grid connectivity.
He brings over 25-years’ experience specialising in infrastructure and data centre projects, joining from Savills where he was co-founder and technical lead of the North American data centre practice. He has previously held senior technical and engineering positions at Studley, Pangaia Partners, and Everest Broadband Networks.
Drescher will work closely with the investment and portfolio company management teams that are currently screening projects totalling more than 10 gigawatts of capacity to ensure engagement with current and prospective partners in the data centre ecosystem.
Denham’s recent launch of Gray Oak Power, a US-based developer and operator of firm power infrastructure, marked a key milestone in the firm’s power-for-data-centers investment strategy. Drescher will help support Denham’s pipeline of on-site power projects. He has led and supported over 25 hyperscale and 100 enterprise transactions over the course of his career.
