Dentons adds new Corporate and M&A partner in Spain

Law firm Dentons has added to its Corporate and M&A practice in Spain with the appointment of Israel de Diego as a new partner in Madrid.

De Diego is a corporate lawyer who advises companies and private equity funds on mergers and acquisitions, both national and international, as well as capital markets transactions.

He is recognised among Spain’s leading Corporate and M&A lawyers by international legal directories such as Chambers Europe and IFLR1000.  Before joining Dentons, he was a partner at Spanish law firm Araoz & Rueda, and prior to that, he was an M&A and Capital Markets partner at Baker McKenzie.

Jabier Badiola, Spain Managing Partner at Dentons, says, “Israel’s recognized and extensive experience in high-value M&A transactions will strengthen our existing Corporate and M&A practice, which has achieved a solid track record in recent years.”

“Joining Dentons, a dynamic and constantly expanding firm with a strong team of professionals around the world, represents a very attractive challenge in my professional career, and one that I face with great enthusiasm,” says de Diego.

In the first half of 2021, Dentons also recruited partner Jose María García Santos as Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, and partner Fermín Garbayo as Head of the Energy group.

Dentons’ global Corporate and M&A practice includes more than 2600 lawyers worldwide, including 12 in Spain.
