DNV Nemko Presafe acquires DGM

Newly formed DNV Nemko Presafe has agreed with DS Certificering A/S to acquire their DGM (Danish Medical Devices Certification) unit to form a new and focused entity within the Medical device certification field.  

Through this acquisition, DNV Nemko Presafe is significantly expanding its position in the area of certification for the Medical Device industry. DGM and their existing staff and services will be integrated into DNV Nemko Presafe’s service portfolio globally.
DNV Nemko Presafe is a newly established joint venture offering testing and certification for medical and EX industries, owned by DNV Business Assurance and Nemko. With the combined resources from Nemko, DNV Business Assurance and DGM, DNV Nemko Presafe is already a leading provider in Europe and on their way to reach the stated goal of becoming one of the top service providers in the world, serving the global Medical device and EX/Hazloc industries.

DGM’s customers can be assured that we will continue to provide them a solid platform for medical devices testing, certification and training, even improving services by leveraging our global network,” says Haakon Knudsen (pictured), Managing Director of DNV Nemko Presafe.
DGM is a Notified Body for the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) and In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Directive (IVD), and holds several cooperation agreements, such as TCP (Taiwan) and FDA (USA). DGM also has a substantial portfolio of related training services and is considered to be one of the leading providers in Europe. DGM is based in Denmark, and most of their customers are located in or originate from Denmark.
“The DGM business consist of ten highly skilled employees and several designations that will be an important extension of our service offerings,” says Haakon Knudsen.
