Domino’s Pizza Enterprises denies reports of Bain Capital bid

The Australian-listed Domino’s Pizza franchise has rejected claims that Bain Capital is preparing a takeover bid for the business, according to a report by Reuters. A potential deal was reportedly set to be worth up to AUD4bn ($2.6bn).

The franchise has a market capitalisation of about A$1.46bn as of Monday’s close. In response to the takeover speculation, its shares initially jumped 23% to AUD19.00 before trading was halted. They later pared gains following the denial, finishing up 3.7% at AUD16.02.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises operates across Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. It is the largest master franchise of the pizza chain.
