Tom Donovan is joining private equity fundraising advisory specialist Rede Partners from Credit Suisse as a Partner to lead the company’s North American business.
The news builds on Rede’s recent success as global fundraising advisor to AnaCap Financial Partners LLP, which closed the Credit Opportunities Fund II at its hard cap of GBP350m after only a six month active fundraising campaign.
Donovan, says: “It has been clear to me for some time that the fundraising market has changed and that fundraising advisors need to change with it. Rede has a creative, bespoke, partnership approach, providing comprehensive advisory services touching on all aspects of the GP/LP relationship. They are a firm built to address the fundraising challenges of the future, rather than the past.”
Donovan has over thirteen years of institutional sales and origination experience in North America. He joins Rede from the Credit Suisse Private Fund Group, where he has spent the past eight years as a senior distribution team member covering institutional investors across North America. Prior to this, Tom spent five years as Associate Director on the Debt Capital Markets team at J.P. Morgan Securities.
Rede was founded in January 2011 by Scott Church, Sharare Hau and Adam Turtle, experienced fundraising professionals with strong institutional backgrounds across Lazard, Royal Bank of Scotland and Credit Suisse. In 2012 Rede Partners was shortlisted for the Real Deals Private Equity Awards in the Placement Agent of the Year category in its first year of operation.
Church says: “Now more than ever, the fundraising market is truly global. We are therefore privileged to have been able to attract someone with the calibre, expertise and capabilities of Tom to deepen our presence in North America. Client service is at the heart of everything we do and Tom brings a proven track record of execution and a shared vision for success.”
