Downing appoints Head of Asset Management

London-based investment manager Downing has appointed Tom Moore to lead its asset management capability.

Prior to joining Downing, Moore was previously Director for Foresight Group, where he was responsible for overseeing a significant portfolio of renewable energy investments and also built a 30-strong team covering the sector.

Efficient, proactive and intelligent asset management is key to protecting, and enhancing, investor returns. The continued investment and development of its in-house asset management capability further enables Downing to deliver exceptional service to its investors.

Kostas Manolis, Head of Unquoted Investment at Downing, says: “Tom’s experience will allow Downing to develop self-reliant asset management, which in turn enables us to carry out even closer analysis of the companies we invest in and ultimately increase performance of these assets on behalf of our investors. There is scope for the expertise brought initially to the Energy team to widen across Downing’s other investment sectors. This is an important strategic development for Downing and the whole team is very pleased to have him join the business.”

Downing has over 30 years of experience helping UK businesses grow, raising over GBP1.7 billion into firms across a range of sectors, from energy, care homes, health clubs, pubs, and children’s nurseries to technology and e-commerce. Downing currently has over GBP1 billion of funds under management and has raised funds from over 35,000 investors.
