Dunedin makes five significant promotions

Dunedin, the UK mid-market private equity house, has made five promotions: Nicholas Hoare has been promoted to COO; Jon Ma, Oliver Bevan and Simon Rowan have been made investment directors; and Jamie Moodie has taken on the role of senior associate.

The promotions recognise the contribution these five team members have made in helping to create value in the Dunedin portfolio.

The five have been extremely active in identifying opportunities and driving growth in the portfolio through bolt-on acquisitions (eleven in the past year), roll-outs and international growth.

Shaun Middleton (pictured), managing partner of Dunedin, says: “These promotions demonstrate our ongoing commitment to nurturing the individual talent that we have at Dunedin and recognise the contributions that Nick, Jon, Oli, Simon and Jamie make to value creation in our portfolio.”

Hoare joined Dunedin in 2007 and was involved in the buyouts of Red Commerce, CitySprint and Weldex. He sits on the board of RSL Steeper.  In his role as COO, Hoare will be responsible for the day-to-day running of operations within Dunedin.

In their new roles as investment directors, Ma, Bevan and Rowan will be responsible for sourcing and transacting deals across the UK and managing Dunedin portfolio companies. Ma joined Dunedin in 2007 and has spent the last two years successfully managing Dunedin’s operations as COO. He has worked on the buyouts of Hawksford International, Formaplex and Enrich. Bevan also joined in 2007. He worked on the buyouts of Hawksford International, CitySprint and U-POL and sits on the board of Practice Plan. Bevan worked on ten of the eleven portfolio acquisitions that were completed last year.  Rowan joined Dunedin in 2008 and was involved in the buyouts of Red Commerce and Weldex and sits on the board of CGI.

Moodie joined Dunedin in 2010 and has had a particular focus on the business services sector. In his new role as senior associate he will be responsible for supporting the investment team in sourcing and transacting deals across the UK.
