Egeria has entered into an exclusivity agreement to sell its portfolio company Royal van Lent to the French world leader in luxury goods: LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton SA.
Royal van Lent is the most recognised designer and builder of ultra luxurious motor yachts in the industry, with almost 160 years experience in yacht construction. Feadship is the brand name under which Royal van Lent designs, builds and delivers its mega yachts.
The Works Council of Royal van Lent has been asked to render advice in relation to the intended transaction. The relevant trade unions have also been informed. The intended transaction will be subject to the clearance by the relevant competition authorities.
Floris Muijser, Investment Director of Egeria, says, “Since our acquisition of Royal van Lent we have further developed the strategy of the company and strengthened the management team. Given the strong prospects of the mega yacht segment and the leading position of Royal van Lent herein we feel LVMH with its profound knowledge of luxurious goods and leading luxury brands is a good new home for the company.
“This investment is an excellent case study in how Egeria invests in healthy well-led Dutch companies operating in markets with an attractive growth potential. We wish LVMH, Dick van Lent and his management team every success for the next phase of Royal van Lent’s development.”
Egeria was advised by Rothschild, Houthoff Buruma and Deloitte.
