Commercial law firm EMW has appointed Jodi Tierney (pictured) as its new Head of Asset Based Lending (ABL), as part of substantial plans to expand its London office.
Tierney joins from Francis Wilks & Jones LLP where she was Partner, having previously been a Senior Associate at Hammonds. She will head up a fast-growing 10-strong Asset Based Lending practice which was recently appointed to the asset finance panel of Santander in 2010.
Tierney’s extensive experience includes advising in relation to collections, asset recovery and fraud situations for asset based lenders, banks and other financial institutions, as well as actions against guarantors and indemnifiers.
Comments Paul Bevington, Principal and Head of EMW’s London office: “We are very pleased to have Jodi on board as part of our plans to expand the London office. Jodi has 12 years of legal experience in the asset finance sector and has worked alongside some of the leading legal experts within the field. She has a reputation for providing prompt, high-quality, no-nonsense advice to both funders and insolvency practitioners and I am sure that she will help play a crucial part in building on the team’s recent growth.”
Tierney says: “I am delighted to be joining EMW’s Asset Based Lending team. Asset finance is an increasingly popular choice for businesses that are finding traditional forms of lending expensive and unavailable, particularly because it can help with longer term financial planning, so there is huge potential for growth within this practice. I am really looking forward to working with the team, especially at such an exciting point in EMW’s growth.”
