Swedish private equity firm EQT has agreed to invest approximately $930m for a 37.6% stake in Douzone Bizon, one of South Korea’s leading enterprise software providers – marking one of EQT’s largest transactions in Asia this year, according to a report by Reuters.
Under the terms of the agreement, EQT will acquire a 23.2% stake from Chairman Young-woo Kim and a further 14.4% from affiliates of Shinhan Financial Group, according to an announcement on Friday.
Founded in 1991, Douzone Bizon provides enterprise resource planning (ERP) and cloud-based software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, including accounting, tax, and compliance management services.
EQT said it plans to take a long-term partnership approach, supporting operational improvements and strategic initiatives to strengthen Douzone Bizon’s market position and accelerate growth. The investment reflects EQT’s ongoing commitment to South Korea and its broader strategy to expand across Asian technology and digital infrastructure markets.
The transaction will be made through BPEA Private Equity Fund IX, which will be around 5%–10% invested following completion. The deal remains subject to customary regulatory approvals, including merger clearance from the Korea Fair Trade Commission and licensing authorisation from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.
