Crosslink Capital, a venture capital and growth equity firm, has appointed Eric Chin as partner.
Chin was most recently a general partner at Bay Partners.
At Crosslink, Chin will focus on internet, software and technology startups, investing in early stage and later stage companies.
Chin began his venture capital career in 1993 at Highland Capital Partners. He then co-founded internet server software company WebSpective in 1996 (acquired by Inktomi), and TelASIC in 2002, a Raytheon spinout which was acquired by Microelectronics Technology.
"We are most pleased to have Eric join Crosslink," says Michael Stark, founder and partner at Crosslink Capital. "We believe that his early stage Internet expertise and network will be a good fit for us."
As a partner at Artiman Ventures until 2005, Chin sourced and funded InvenSense in 2003, a provider of motion processing, MEMS gyroscope, and motion processing technologies for consumer electronics. The company filed for IPO in June.
At Bay Partners, he seeded Dropcam, which makes video surveillance accessible anytime, anywhere, and funded Plastic Jungle, a marketplace for gift cards, and Interact911, public safety and incidence response software.
Chin is also co-founder and president of The Alpha Club, a networking club for more than 400 founders, chief executives and vice presidents of internet companies.
