Former Carlyle Group executive Jay Koh says that investors should be focusing more on the opportunities surrounding extreme weather resilience and climate adaptation, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report cites Systemiq, saying that the value of this market may reach $1.3tn by 2030.
Koh’s firm Lightsmith Group set up the first private investment fund focused on climate adaptation in 2019. He added that climate adaptation is seen as less politically controversial than efforts to reduce carbon emissions, making it more appealing for investors.
