Mid-market advisory firm Clearwater Corporate Finance has promoted four corporate finance specialists across its UK offices.
John Clarke (Manchester) and Sebastian Saywood (Nottingham/Birmingham) have been promoted to director, while James Dykes (London) becomes assistant director and Paddy Bamford (London) takes up a new role as director of real estate.
Clarke (pictured) has over seven years’ corporate finance experience. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics at Imperial College before qualifying as a chartered accountant and joining Clearwater in 2010. Recent transactions Clarke has advised on include the sale of Direct Group for LDC and the acquisition of Dunedin owned Capula by Imtech.
Saywood has over ten years’ corporate advisory experience. He read Economics at the University of Durham before training in restructuring and qualifying as a chartered accountant. Saywood joined Clearwater in 2007 and has since been involved in around 30 mid-market advisory mandates, including company sales and MBOs. He recently advised management and Palatine Private Equity on the buyout of the amusement and gaming division of Midlands-based Inspired Gaming, which has turnover in excess of GBP30m.
Dykes, a qualified barrister and solicitor, spent five years at PwC in corporate tax, M&A and valuations with a specific focus in the transport and energy sectors, prior to joining Clearwater in 2011. Since then he has been involved in a wide range of buy and sell-side mandates and is part of Clearwater’s support services team.
Bamford also joined the firm in 2011 from BDO’s corporate finance team. He has played a key part in strengthening Clearwater’s expertise in real estate, developing relationships with investors and businesses in the sector.
Phil Burns, managing partner at Clearwater Corporate Finance, says: “We are very pleased to announce the promotions of John, Seb, James and Paddy. They have each made a significant contribution to the development of our key sector teams and helped us to develop relationships with businesses and investors overseas.
“The promotions show our ongoing commitment to supporting the development of our people and we are certain that they will continue to deliver excellent services to our clients.”
