FRP Advisory adds new director in Essex office

FRP Advisory, the business advisory firm, has strengthened its UK operations with the promotion to director of Julie Humphrey. She will be based in the firm’s Essex office.

Humphrey brings to her director role appointment more than 13 years of restructuring and insolvency experience, having worked alongside FRP Advisory’s founding partners since the start of her business advisory career. Julie is a licensed insolvency practitioner and a qualified accountant and has deep-rooted connections to the Essex and wider South-East business and lender communities.

The promotion of Humphrey from senior manager to director, brings to seven the number of partners and directors based in FRP Advisory’s Brentwood, Essex office, serving the home-counties and wider South-East region up to the Midlands. Humphrey has more recently advised on insolvency and corporate restructuring assignments ranging from fashion and retail, to construction, transport and haulage to media and communications and recruitment.

Glyn Mummery, Brentwood-based partner at FRP Advisory, says: “We are delighted that Julie has made director, a testament to her proven experience as a corporate recovery and restructuring advisor. FRP Advisory and our clients benefit from the 13 years of thorough advisory work and deep and varied sectoral expertise which she now takes with her to a senior management position within the firm. Humphrey has always lived locally, so from both a personal and professional perspective, brings to the table that unique understanding of the regional business community that can often give us the edge in quality of advice and solutions we offer. Humphrey has a deep understanding of the needs of a wide array of both business owners and managers, advisors and the lending and investment communities both regionally in Essex and across the wider South-East.

FRP Advisory continues to expand to meet client demand for its business advisory services through a combination of lateral hires of experienced professionals, and the recruitment and development of home-grown talented professionals. These latter individuals, such as Humphrey, help retain our experience and links with the local business owner and lender communities, and ensure that as a firm we nurture our distinctive culture of hands-on commercial advice.

Clients judge us according to the quality of our advice and in Humphrey we are privileged to have a consummate professional who achieves results for our clients. Her skills, combined with her strong relationships with regional accountants and solicitors, national and regional businesses and banks, will enable us to continue to strengthen the full breadth of services that FRP Advisory is able to provide to both company management and the full range of high street banks, asset based lenders and other finance houses.”

Humphrey says: “Creating and recovering value for business owners, investors and lenders is what motivates us all at FRP Advisory – I am so pleased to have the opportunity as a director to help drive that process further forward. “

“I will continue to advise business owners and investors across a diverse range of sectors, reflecting the wealth of industries and support service businesses that cluster across the South-East’s towns, cities and regions. If Essex is known for its can-do attitude, then insolvency often does not mean the end of the road for a business, rather entrepreneurs and investors often learn from their mistakes, coming back stronger and ready to reinvest for future opportunities. At FRP Advisory it is about ‘doing the right thing’, and crucially for our local and regional businesses doing it well, on time and with the best possible value created or recovered.”
