Investment manager Downing has closed a dedicated GBP125 million infrastructure fund focusing on the flexible generation sector in the UK.
The increase in deployment of renewable energy has created a new class of flexible generation assets of which gas peakers play a significant role and is where the fund will focus its investment activities.
Downing’s energy team have made over 100 energy investments to date across a range of sectors including: solar, reserve power, battery storage, wind and biomass.

The shareholders of Inflexion Private Equity-backed CloserStill Media have reached an agreement to sell the exhibitions operator to Providence Equity Partners.

Alantra has acquired a strategic stake in pan-European alternative asset manager Access Capital Partners, a deal that sees the firm add fund of funds, co-investment and secondaries strategies to its existing direct investment activities.
Alantra will be offering its clients access to six specialised asset management classes: private equity, active funds, private debt, infrastructure, real estate and private wealth management.

American Securities has partnered with management and acquired FleetPride, a distributor of aftermarket parts for the US heavy-duty truck industry. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Based in Irving, Texas, FleetPride is the largest independent heavy-duty aftermarket parts distributor in the US. The Company acts as a critical link between 2,150 suppliers and 100,000 customers who are served through a national network of over 270 branch locations. Greencoat UK Wind (UKW) is to acquire the Douglas West wind farm from Blue Energy. Completion under the Sale and Purchase Agreement is expected to take place in Q1 2019, subject to the finalisation of construction, operation and maintenance contracts.

OTTO, a leading specialist provider of ventilation and air-conditioning solutions, cooling technology and building automation, was acquired in May 2014 by Equistone.
