C5 Capital, an investment firm focused on cyber security, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, has made a USD35 million investment in IronNet Cybersecurity. IronNet, which was founded by US General (Ret) Keith Alexander (CEO) raised USD78 million in total with Silicon Valley venture capital firms ForgePoint Capital (formerly known as Trident Capital Cybersecurity), and Kleiner Perkins also participating in the round.   The new funds will be used to support IronNet’s strategic growth and to continue accelerating the development and adoption of its industry-leading cybersecurity solutions.   Andre Pienaar, Managing Partner and Founder of C5 will join the board of
Buy and build middle market private equity firm Mountaingate Capital (Mountaingate) has made a strategic investment in ImagineSoftware, a revenue cycle management SaaS platform. Founded in 2000 by CEO Sam Khashman, ImagineSoftware now bills for over 46,000 physicians in Radiology, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Pathology, Oncology, and over 18 other specialties with end-to-end practice and revenue cycle management software solutions. Churchill Asset Management (Churchill), a provider of senior and unitranche debt financing to middle market companies, has closed a USD300 million leveraged loan fund, Churchill Middle Market CLO IV Ltd.  The seven-year Fund is comprised of: a USD200 million AA DBRS-rated senior revolving credit facility; USD55 million of “A”-, “BBB”- and “BB”-rated mezzanine notes; and, USD45 million of un-rated Subordinated notes. Italian private equity firm Clessidra SGR is to acquire the entire share capital of Scrigno Group. Based in Rimini, Scrigno is a manufacturer and distributor of counter-frames for pocket doors and windows worldwide. The company also manufactures and distributes armoured doors following the recent acquisition of Master, a company based in Piacenza.   Scrigno operates in over 20 countries in the world through commercial subsidiaries, besides Italy, in France, Spain and the Czech Republic. A renewable energy infrastructure fund managed by Impax Asset Management (AIFM), has completed the sale of the 36MW Dromadda More wind farm in County Kerry, Ireland to Greencoat Renewables PLC for an undisclosed amount. The fund acquired the project to develop 11 turbines on the site in 2015 from a local developer. The project was constructed using 3.3MW Vestas V112 turbines, some of the largest to be installed in the country to date.   Funding for construction comprised Fund equity and third party non-recourse project finance. A sale agreement was signed following a competitive auction process late last year.  The
Noerr has assisted Bayer AG with the sale of further crop science businesses worth up to EUR1.7 billion to BASF. Teams from Noerr’s Digital Business and Corporate/M&A practice groups advised the group on the sale of its global digital farming division. The overall package also includes the worldwide vegetable seed business and certain seed treatment agents. In return for selling its digital farming division, Bayer will receive a grant-back licence for certain digital farming applications. Oxx, a growth capital firm investing in B2B software companies, has completed the first close of its debut fund, Oxx I, with a total of USD100 million in funds under management so far. Oxx was launched in January 2017 after Richard Anton and Mikael Johnsson left Amadeus Capital to co-found the business. Oxx I has reached its first close target with backing from a range of significant institutions, family offices and HNWs, including British Business Investments, the commercial arm of the British Business Bank, which is the largest single investor.   Notable individuals backing the fund include Amadeus Capital co-founder
StorageOS has closed a USD8 million Series A funding round, led by existing investor Bain Capital Ventures with participation from new investors: MMC Ventures in the UK, where StorageOS R&D is located, and 645 Ventures in New York, StorageOS’ new US headquarters. StorageOS will use the investment to expand product development and drive global sales.   Unlike other solutions on the market that lack portability and flexibility, StorageOS delivers storage directly to the application and not to the infrastructure. This gives developers a unique and efficient way to operate that improves performance and decreases time to market for applications.  
SVPGlobal, a global investment firm focused on distressed and deep-value opportunities, has held the final closing of Strategic Value Special Situations Fund IV (SVSS IV) at its hard cap of USD2.85 billion, including USD350 million of reserved capacity for a ‘fund of one’ relationship. SVSS IV received significant demand beyond its hard cap and closed well above the Fund’s USD2.1 billion original target, with support from a diverse and global base of both existing and new investors. The Fund also exceeded the size of its predecessor, SVSS III, which closed in November 2014 on a total of USD1.56 billion, including USD250 million reserved capacity for a ‘fund-of-one’.   SVSS IV
Vine Acquisitions Limited, backed by Patron Capital and May Capital, has acquired The Laine Pub Company (Laine), in partnership with the Laine management team. Laine will continue to be run by its existing management team, led by co-founder Gavin George.
