Asian healthcare company Columbia Asia has raised a new round of investment of USD210 million to help in its aggressive expansion strategy.    Columbia Asia, part of Seattle-based Columbia Pacific Management, has 29 hospitals and two clinics in India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Kenya, built with an innovative business model focused on serving Asia’s rapidly growing middle class with modern and efficient multi-specialty hospitals located close to where patients live and work. The company has about 10,000 employees serving more than 2.5 million patients a year, with 2,600 beds across all its facilities.     The company last year opened
Shamrock Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, has sold its ownership stake in Consilio, a specialist in eDiscovery, document review, and legal consulting services to private equity firm, GI Partners. As part of the transaction, Consilio announced a definitive agreement to combine its operations with eDiscovery and risk management provider, Advanced Discovery, creating one of the largest and most capable legal solutions and services providers in the world. The transaction is expected to close late in the second quarter of 2018, subject to usual and customary closing conditions. Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS), a private equity firm focused exclusively on the technology and healthcare industries, is to acquire a majority equity interest in Avetta, a provider of cloud-based supply chain risk management solutions. Renephra, a medical device company, has raised GBP231,000 from Deepbridge Capital and the GM&C Life Sciences Fund, managed by Catapult Ventures. Renephra, spun out of The University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust by UMI3 Ltd, is developing an innovative medical device to treat patients with chronic oedema and fluid overload.
