Quaero Capital’s recently re-named Infrastructure strategy, refocused from a wider Real Assets mandate, is now entirely concentrated on infrastructure stocks, with just a 3 per cent cash provision. The largest exposures are toll roads and tunnels (17 per cent), diversified infrastructure companies (16 per cent), and rail & bus (16 per cent). Rail & bus, agricultural infrastructure and communications towers stocks were largely unchanged over the last month, while waste recycling (the smallest allocation), communications and social infrastructure (also a small allocation), performed poorly.   The strategy is structured so that all holdings can be liquidated in one day and
O’Melveny has advised Access Technology Ventures as lead investor in the USD300 million funding of smartphone maker Essential Products Inc. The funding brings Essential’s total capital raised to USD330 million. Other investors in the round included Redpoint Ventures, Tencent Holdings Ltd., Altimeter Capital, Vy Capital, and Amazon Inc.’s Alexa Fund.   The O’Melveny team was led by partners Warren Lazarow, David Makarechian, and Heather Meeker, and associates Chris Dombkowski and Snehal Desai. 
Funds managed by EMK Capital are to acquire a majority shareholding in Luminati, the enterprise proxy network division of Hola Networks, for an enterprise value of USD200 million. The founders of Hola Networks will retain a significant stake in the company and Ofer Vilenski, Co-Founder, will continue as CEO of Luminati. Global investment firm KKR has opened a new office in Shanghai, the firm’s third office in Greater China following Beijing and Hong Kong, and its eighth in Asia Pacific. Epidarex Capital (Epidarex), an early stage life science venture capital firm, has sold portfolio company Confluence Life Sciences to Aclaris Therapeutics, for a total deal value of up to USD100 million in up-front and milestone payments.  The Confluence investors are also eligible to receive future payments on royalties on drug product sales.   Confluence was established in 2010 by an experienced team of former Pfizer executives and researchers in St. Louis, MO. One of the UK’s fastest-growing housing developers has announced a turnover increase of more than 35 per cent in its annual results. Westleigh Partnerships, which is backed by Private equity firm Palatine, specialises in building affordable homes for housing associations and local authorities, as well as high quality new homes for the local market, turned over GBP128.6m in the year to March 31 2017, up from GBP95.1m the previous year.   Profit before tax jumped by more than 75 per cent, up to GBP10.9 million from GBP6.1 million. SK Capital, a private investment firm focused on the specialty materials, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors, is to to acquire Perrigo API, Perrigo Company’s active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) business. As part of the transaction, the parties have agreed to enter into a long-term supply agreement for Perrigo API to supply multiple existing commercial and pipeline APIs to Perrigo.
