Cathay Capital has held the closing of Cathay Innovation’s first investment vehicle for a total of USD320 million. This sum constitutes a record for a first-time venture capital fund raised in Europe. Cinven has sold of 40 per cent of its equity stake in Visma, a provider of business critical software to SMBs in the Nordic and Benelux region, to a group of investors led by HgCapital.  An investor group led by HgCapital, an existing investor in Visma, together with GIC, Montagu and ICG, is also acquiring 100 per cent of KKR’s stake in the Group. Cinven retains a significant minority stake in the Group. CVC Credit Partners (CVC Credit) has closed CVC Credit Partners Global CLO Management Limited, providing CVC Credit with risk retention capital for its global CLO business. Global CLO Management Limited closed at its hard cap of USD600 million. CVC Credit’s Global CLO Management Limited provides strategic balance sheet capital to CVC Credit’s new US and European CLO managers, which enables the managers to comply with both the US and European CLO risk retention rules. International law firm Ropes & Gray has advised Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) on the USD5.3 billion consortium buyout of Visma, Europe’s largest ever software buyout. CVC Credit Partners’ European Private Debt Business has provided a EUR50 million unitranche facility to Trimb Healthcare, to support its acquisition of the Pevaryl and Fungoral brands in certain European countries from Johnson & Johnson. NextPharma is a market leader in the western European pharmaceutical CDMO space, serving a global blue-chip customer base, including seven of the top ten pharma companies. Dyal Capital Partners, a division of Neuberger Berman Group, has acquired a strategic minority stake in private credit and special opportunities alternative investment manager, Atalaya Capital Management. Dyal will become a passive, non-voting partner in Atalaya. Carey Olsen’s Guernsey funds team has advised ADM Capital Europe LLP, a London-private equity and investment advisory firm, on the launch of its global agribusiness investment fund, the Cibus Fund. The Cibus fund held its first close of USD100 million on 2 May and is targeting a USD500 million final close in 2018. Legal & General is helping to finance a fleet of new Bombardier trains for the First MTR South Western Trains franchise. The GBP100 million long term debt investment by LGIM Real Assets, on behalf of clients including Legal & General Retirement (LGR) is part of a total GBP1 billion commitment made from a group of institutional investors to Rock Rail.   This deal represents the largest single UK rolling stock deal for which all senior debt is provided by institutional investors.
