Ambienta, together with the Mosiewicz Family, has closed the sale of SPIG to Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises (B&W), a company listed on the NYSE. Realza Capital has reached a first closing for its second private equity fund, Realza Capital Fund II, and has received commitments totalling EUR125 million. The fund has a target of EUR200 million and is backed by a group of international and Spanish investors.     Alfredo Zavala and Martín González del Valle founded Realza in 2007 in order to invest in the Spanish lower-middle market. An uncertain environment in 2016 caused by the UK’s referendum on European Union (EU) membership and US elections has negatively impacted M&A activity, setting global M&A back 26.6 per cent during the first half of 2016. In a second financing round totalling EUR6.4 million, THEVA has taken eCAPITAL on board as lead investor and the Bavarian Growth Fund as co-investor. Target Partners and the Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (BayBG) became shareholders in 2012 in the first financing round. Both have now increased their investment.   THEVA Dünnschichttechnik has invested millions in recent years to set up the first superconducting wire manufacturing facility in Germany. International law firm Proskauer has represented private investment company Bruin Sports Capital in its acquisition of deltatre. Based in Turin, Italy, deltatre provides a range of digital and broadcast solutions for the world’s largest sporting events, federations, media partners and brands.

   Launched in January 2015, Bruin focuses on investments in sports, media, marketing and branded lifestyle companies.   Proskauer previously represented Bruin in a transaction with the National Football League to form a new holding company to run the NFL On Location event and hospitality business.

The EMEA region has lost ground on its US and Asia-Pacific counterparts in sponsor-backed tech investments over the last five years, according to a report released by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Equistone Partners Europe has acquired cloud computing operator Adista. Following the transaction, Equistone will hold a majority stake in the company, alongside founding management Gilles and Pascal Caumont, regional investment fund GEI (a current shareholder which will reinvest in the company) and Institut Lorrain de Participation (a long-term shareholder).    Forty of the company’s managers will also participate in the transaction, investing in the group to become minority shareholders.   Founded in 1981 in Maxéville, France, Adista is a telecommunications networks and cloud computing services provider to corporates and local governments. Palamon Capital Partners is to sell Eneas Group to Norvestor Equity or an undisclosed amount.  The sale will bring total proceeds to NOK750 million (approximately EUR80 million), representing a 3.3x return on invested capital.    The transaction is expected to close in August 2016, subject to regulatory approvals.    Full terms of the sale were not disclosed, however, following the transaction the company will continue to be led by CEO and founder Thomas Hakavik.   Eneas is an independent supplier of corporate energy services to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Nordic region and serves more than 25,000 customers with

UK online pharmacy companies Pharmacy2U and ChemistDirect.co.uk have merged in a GBP40 million deal backed by GBP10 million of investment from Business Growth Fund (BGF), creating a business with a 1.5 million customer base.   The merger follows the opening of Pharmacy2U’s brand new GBP3.5 million dispensing hub in Leeds – the first of its kind in the UK – earlier in 2016. The facility is capable of dispensing one million prescription items a month.    BGF has provided a GBP10 million investment to support the merger and the new company’s ambitious long term growth plans.
