BlackFin Capital Partners has closed its BlackFin Financial Services Fund II with aggregate commitments from European institutional investors and family-offices in excess of EUR400 million, and has started to invest and deploy the fresh capital raised.
In August, BlackFin signed an agreement to purchase from The Royal Bank of Scotland plc its Luxembourg-domiciled independent management company and funds governance business, RBS (Luxembourg) SA (RBSL). The deal was completed on 31 December following the approval by the Luxembourg regulator (CSSF).

Private investment firm Angeles Equity Partners has acquired, through an affiliated entity, UGN’s automotive acoustic solutions business based in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
UGN is a joint venture between Autoneum Holding AG and Nihon Tokushu Toryo (Nittoku).
The deal combines Angeles Equity Partners prior automotive sector experience with their complex carve-out expertise.
The business, which will operate under the name Applied Acoustics International (AAI), is a provider of sound barrier and noise damping products to the North American automotive industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. AAI will continue to supply noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) reduction
The Italian branch of 21 Partners has received total commitments of EUR343 million for 21 Investimenti III, surpassing the initial objective of EUR300 million and reaching the fund’s hard cap.
21 Investimenti III received strong support from existing institutional investors as well as key new relationships, both in Europe and the US. More than half of the capital was raised outside of Italy.
The Fund has already completed two investments in SIFI, an Italian leader of innovative pharmaceutical treatments, instruments and equipment for eye care and Poligof, a European leader in backsheet film for hygienic disposable products.

MUFG Investor Services, the global asset servicing group of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, is to acquire Neuberger Berman’s private equity fund administration business, Capital Analytics.
This deal brings MUFG Investor Services’ private equity and real estate assets under administration (AUA) to USD145billion and total AUA to USD384billion.

With 3,506.2 billion EURof assets under management as at 31 December 2015, Luxembourg has retained its position as the leading investment fund domicile in Europe, growing by 13.29 per cent during 2015.
The number of investment funds stood at 3,878. As at the end of November, Luxembourg accounted for 42.43 per cent of all net sales in Europe.
Investment funds domiciled in Luxembourg and initiated by US and UK asset managers represent the 1st and 2nd largest net assets under management, namely EUR759.8 billion and EUR581.5 billion, respectively, at the end of 2015.

Private equity company HIG Capital’s portfolio company Ship Supply International has acquired Alliance Supply Management.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Alliance is a port logistics business that provides time sensitive, last-mile delivery of required deck & engine maintenance products and critical perishable goods to commercial vessels throughout the US Gulf Coast. Since its founding in 1906, Alliance has achieved an industry-leading reputation and a long tradition of success while operating under the ownership of the Margolin family. Bruce Margolin, the President of Alliance, will join the Ship Supply team as Chief Commercial Officer.

BGF (Business Growth Fund) has backed Darlington-based Total Recycling Services (TRS) with a GBP6.7m growth capital investment.
TRS provides complete recycling and waste management services for industrial and commercial customers, including hazardous waste recovery, commercial recycling and industrial services. Operating from its two sites in Teesside, all services are carried out in-house enabling TRS to provide a high-level of flexibility, responsiveness and control around customers’ recycling and waste management requirements.

UK venture capital investor Albion Ventures has led a GBP1.65m funding round in the mobile fan engagement and sports marketing company InCrowd Sports. Albion Ventures is investing alongside Sky and a number of angel investors.
The management team is led by Aidan Cooney who previously set up the world’s leading sports data company, Opta, also backed by Albion Ventures. He is joined by two former IMG executives and a technology group borne out of the University of Sussex Innovation Centre.

BlackRock has completed an initial close for its latest renewable power fund, Renewable Income Europe, with EUR275 million in commitments secured from a range of institutional investors from Europe and Asia.
