Warburg Pincus has raised over USD12 billion in third party commitments for its latest global fund, Warburg Pincus Private Equity XII.
Warburg Pincus XII’s Limited Partners include leading public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and wealthy individuals. Utrecht, 23 November 2015: Gilde Buy Out Partners announces a single closing of Gilde Buy-Out Fund V (“the Fund”) at the hard cap of EUR1.1 billion.
The Fund will build on the proven strategy executed by Gilde Buy Out Partners’ prior four funds, investing in mid-market companies with strong market positions, clear growth potential and a core focus on the Benelux (The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg) and DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

Aurelius Group is acquiring the Reuss-Seifert & Hammerl Group a European manufacturer of plastic, steel, and concrete spacers; construction films; and other consumables for the concrete construction industry.
With a combined workforce of more than 300 skilled employees, Reuss-Seifert & Hammerl generated revenues of around EUR60 million last year. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Reuss-Seifert is headquartered in Sprockhövel, in the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia. Hammerl’s head office is in Gemmrigheim, near Stuttgart. The Group has a total of six production facilities (five in Germany and one in Poland) together with two further locations
New rules have been introduced which allow Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) to be listed on the Channel Islands Securities Exchange (CISE). A SPAC is a cash shell which is used to raise money for a very specific investment objective.
The SPAC is growing again in popularity as international markets recover from the global financial crisis and now the CISE has launched specific rules to introduce it as a new product.

Stephen Lansdown, co-founder of FTSE100 financial services group Hargreaves Lansdown, is becoming a partner and shareholder in creative investment group Edge Investments through the private equity arm of his family office.
Lansdown, who has in the past invested in a number of Edge’s funds, is taking a 10 per cent stake in the firm and will work alongside David Glick, Edge’s founder and Chief Executive as he expands the business. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Synerlab has acquired Alcala Farma, a Spanish contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO). Alcala Farma specialises in the development of proprietary formulation, which represents nearly 40 per cent of its total EUR25 million sales.
Alcala Farma’s current portfolio of pharmaceutical drugs comes in multiple dosage forms includes sterile products, oral liquids, oral solids and topical products. Manufacturing is covered by two production sites in Spain, with one specialising in soft gelatin capsules and the other covering more than 250 formulations and 3 500 references.

A fund managed by its Ares EIF Group has completed its acquisition of the Van Hook Gathering System in North Dakota from WPX Energy (NYSE: WPX) in a transaction valued at USD185 million. The transaction was originally announced on 31 August, 2015.
The acquisition consists of pipeline systems that currently gather approximately 11,000 barrels of oil, 6,500 million cubic feet of natural gas, and 5,000 barrels of water per day from WPX Energy’s Bakken shale oil assets. WPX Energy will continue to operate the Van Hook Gathering System, and MCP Operating, LLC, a subsidiary of MCP Asset Development Group, will
Tyre manufacturer Apollo Tyres, headquartered in the Indian city of Gurgaon, has acquired the Bielefeld-based reifencom Group. The purchase price was around EUR 45.6 million.
The acquisition of reifencom is part of Apollo Tyres’ strategy to expand its European business. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities.

Private equity firm Lynx Equity Limited has received CAD15 million in financing from The Labourers’ Pension Fund.
“This financing represents the culmination of many significant years of growth and surpassing many of our goals,” says Lynx President Brad Nathan. “This investment will allow us to continue achieving our strategic goals and we are confident that this marks the beginning of a long and successful relationship with the Labourers’.”

Invest Securities has launched PRE-IPO, the first European crowdfunding platform for private investments in the last financing rounds of unlisted growth companies a few months before they go public.
A website describing the concept will be live between 20 November and 20 December, and will introduce PRE-IPO's first exclusive investment projects in cleantech, biotech, IT and e-Business companies. The full version of the PRE-IPO platform will then officially open on 26 January, 2016.
