Private equity placement agent BerchWood Partners has formed a joint venture with JTP Capital, an investment advisory firm which provides capital advisory solutions for a small number of well selected real estate investment platforms.
Mitchell B. Sikora, JTP Capital’s founding member, and Henry J Delicata, a senior advisor, will be working with the BerchWood team on placement activities.

TIAA-CREF has launched Churchill Asset Management, a new majority-owned subsidiary focused on originating, underwriting and managing senior loan investments, primarily in US middle-market companies. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Churchill adds to TIAA-CREF’s existing fixed income capabilities by expanding its private credit platform. It also supports the firm’s long-term strategy to offer investors a diversified array of investment options and help clients build financial well-being. Lion Capital is to acquire Spence Diamonds, a direct seller of custom-made engagement rings in Canada.
Lion Capital is partnering with IVEST Consumer Partners, a Vancouver-based retail investor and operator, who will bring seasoned operating executives George Jones and Jim Schneider to lead the business. IVEST will make a minority investment in Spence, as will current CEO Sean Jones, who will also remain on the board. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Oil and gas private equity firm EnCap Investment has closed EnCap Energy Capital Fund X with USD6.5 billion of limited partner capital commitments.
Fund X, which reached its USD6.5 billion hard cap and was significantly oversubscribed, provides growth capital to proven management teams focused primarily on the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry in North America.

ALPS, a DST Company that provides products and services to the financial services industry, is to acquire asset manager Red Rocks Capital, a leader in listed private equity and other private asset investments.
The purchase price of up to USD65 million will consist of a combination of up-front cash consideration and performance-related contingent consideration. The transaction will be funded using a combination of cash and short-term borrowings on revolving credit lines.
The closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the second half of 2015.

Technology investor Mark Pearson is launching Fuel.Ventures EIS Fund 1, an open-ended venture capital fund investing in the e-commerce sector.
The fund will target super-early seed, seed and A-stage investments in the rapidly growing European e-commerce sector. European mobile commerce sales are expected to grow from EUR17.3bn to EUR113.3bn between 2013 and 2018. Private equity firm Mansa Capital Management has completed an acquisition of Accreon, a Boston-based healthcare technology and services company that integrates and manages health information.
Mansa Capital invested USD5.5 million in Accreon along with the company’s new management team and original founders to finance the acquisition. The deal also facilitates the succession of Eric Demers to the position of President and CEO, Martin Ferguson, SVP of Delivery, and Michael Lavigne, SVP of Sales and Marketing. The Permira Funds Partner with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board to acquire world's number one independent enterprise data integration provider.
Informatica Corporation, an independent provider of enterprise data integration software and services, is to be acquired by a company controlled by the Permira funds and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) for approximately USD5.3 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, Informatica shareholders will receive $48.75 in cash for each share of Informatica common stock.

Venture capital investor Beringea, manager of the ProVenVCTs, has led a GBP13 million funding round for D3O, the UK-based developer of smart materials.
