Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based global investment firm, and Permira, a growth-focused global private equity firm, are to sell a majority of their respective stakes in Teraco Data Environments (Teraco) an African, carrier-neutral, data centre and interconnection services provider, to Digital Realty.
Both Berkshire Partners and the Permira funds, as well as existing investor van Rooyen Group, will retain minority equity interests in the Company. Teraco’s current management team, including Chief Executive Officer Jan Hnizdo, will continue to lead the Company and will remain significant investors in the business.
Alpine Investors (Alpine), a people-driven private equity firm, has sold its portfolio company, MidAmerica Administrative & Retirement Solutions (MidAmerica) to US Retirement & Benefits Partners (USRBP).
MidAmerica administers retirement and health & welfare plans for public sector employers.
Terms of the sale have not been disclosed.
Savills Investment Management (Savills IM), an international real estate investment manager, has completed its strategic alliance with Samsung Life, a life insurer in Korea, and its real estate asset management subsidiary, Samsung SRA.
The partnership will allow Savills IM to grow existing products across real estate equity and debt, as well as paving the way for the launch of new strategies targeting asset classes including European Logistics and Living.
Completion of the transaction sees Samsung Life acquire a 25 per cent minority interest in Savills IM for GBP63.75 million paid in cash and an agreement to commit capital of USD1
An affiliate of Starwood Capital Group, a global private investment firm focused on real estate and energy investments, has acquired a majority interest in the assets owned by Land Tejas, a Houston-based residential development company with a more than 20-year history of creating lifestyle communities.

Global investment firm 3G Capital is to acquire a controlling interest in Hunter Douglas, a specialist in window coverings and a major manufacturer of architectural products, from controlling shareholder Ralph Sonnenberg based on a value of EUR175 per Ordinary Share, which values the company at approximately USD7.1 billion.
The Sonnenberg Family will continue to hold a 25 per cent interest in Hunter Douglas, pro forma for the new capital structure. The Board of Directors of Hunter Douglas, represented only by its Independent Directors, unanimously supports the transaction and has entered into a separate agreement with 3G Capital and Ralph Sonnenberg

With two locations in Cleburne, Texas, and founded in 1988, Cleburne Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation (Cleburne), is a full-service outpatient orthopaedic physical therapy practice. The Company, was advised by Generational Equity on the transaction.

Private equity firm Nolan Capital has acquired a majority stake in Coastal Farm & Ranch, a North West USA ranch and country lifestyle retailer.
As part of the deal, Coastal has transitioned to a new ownership group with Nolan Capital as the majority partner.

International web hosting business, Miss Group, has completed the acquisition of Swiss web hosting provider, Webland.
Perwyn, a family-backed private equity business, acquired a majority position in Miss Group in February 2020 to support the growth ambitions of the business through international expansion and ongoing M&A. The acquisition of Webland is the fifth to be completed by Miss Group in 2021, as part of its ongoing buy-and-build strategy and will strengthen revenue and EBITDA growth for the Group in the Swiss market and the DACH region.
