An affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners (One Rock), a value-oriented, operationally focused private equity firm, has completed the previously announced acquisition of the tire additives business of Eastman Chemical Company (Eastman), a specialist in critical specialty chemicals for the tire industry.
The company will operate under the name Flexsys, a tribute to the legacy name of the business. The acquisition of Flexsys marks One Rock’s sixth corporate carve-out transaction in 2021.

Moonfare, a digital private equity investment platform for individual investors, has raised USD125 million in Series C funding, led by New York-based global private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners.
Moonfare will use the funding to continue to develop innovative investment solutions and accelerate its international expansion. The company has raised USD185 million in funding to date.
Moonfare offers individual investors access to select private market funds that were previously only available for institutions. In September, Moonfare exceeded EUR1 billion assets under management, doubling its assets in only eight months. Moonfare’s last financing round was in March of this
London and Chicago based investment firm Nova Capital Management Limited has acquired Walbro Co Ltd, through an investment vehicle formed in partnership with Landon Capital Partners.
Michigan-based Walbro is a specialist in the manufacture of engine management and fuel systems for the lawn and garden, recreation & marine and ground support markets. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

EagleTree Capital (EagleTree), on behalf of its private equity fund EagleTree Partners V, has acquired Lignetics, a consumer-focused wood pellet manufacturer in the US, from Taglich Private Equity and Mill Road Capital.
Lignetics will be a new platform investment in the EagleTree portfolio, and Lignetics’ operations, management team and personnel will remain unchanged following the EagleTree investment. Co-investors, including Alpha Associates, Bullingham Capital, Farol Asset Management, Manulife Investment Management, Misland Capital, Northwestern Mutual Capital, and Thrivent Financial, are investing alongside EagleTree. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Funds affiliated with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) have agreed to acquire Tricor Group (Tricor), an Asian business expansion specialist, from global private equity firm investment Permira.
The transaction is expected to close in H1 2022 subject to regulatory approvals. The transaction values Tricor at an enterprise value of USD2.76 billion.
