Appfire, a provider of apps that help teams solve modern challenges with digital solutions, has received a USD100 million investment from TA Associates, a global growth private equity firm.   With this investment, Appfire intends to continue its leadership within the Atlassian ecosystem with more than 85 purpose-built products on the Atlassian Marketplace and over 110,000 active installations worldwide.   TA’s investment in Appfire comes on the heels of a USD49 million strategic investment from Silversmith Capital Partners in May 2020. Since Silversmith’s investment, Appfire has made six acquisitions within the Atlassian ecosystem – Artemis, Beecom, Bolo, Botron, Innovalog and
Socure, a specialist in 100 per cent digital identity trust, has secured USD100 million in a Series D round of funding led by Accel, with participation from existing investors Commerce Ventures, Scale Venture Partners, Flint Capital, Citi Ventures, Wells Fargo Strategic Capital, Synchrony, Sorenson, Two Sigma Ventures, and others.  This round brings Socure’s total funding to USD196 million, following a recent USD35 million investment less than six months ago led by Sorenson Ventures.  Already the leader in financial services, the new financing will support Socure’s rapid expansion across every consumer-facing vertical including online gaming, healthcare, telco, e-commerce, and on-demand services.

Ten scaleups, which between them secured 20 per cent of total UK tech VC investment at USD3.5 billion drove UK tech in 2020, according to Tech Nations’ latest report on the state of the UK tech sector.
Bowmark Capital has agreed to sell its stake in Oxford International Education Group, an international education provider, as part of two simultaneous transactions – the sale of the company’s schools division to Nord Anglia Education, and the sale of its university partnerships, online learning and languages business to a management buy-out, backed by THI Investments.  Since Bowmark invested in the group in March 2014, Oxford International has significantly expanded the scale and scope of its schools and university partnerships businesses, more than doubling overall group revenues.  The schools division has grown from one to three top-performing independent schools and now
Deep Tech start up Nuventura has launched a new funding round in order to make the crucial next steps towards the product’s industrialisation and prepare for expansion into other markets. In December 2020 deep tech startup Nuventura successfully closed an equity funding round of EUR2.5 million in extension of its 2019 seed round.  This funding round was led by new investors Cycle Eco Technology Fund and DOEN Participaties with the participation of existing investors IBB Ventures, APEX Energy and Future Energy Ventures as well as several well-known angel investors. To date, Nuventura’s total funding amounts to more than EUR8 million. 
Funds advised by Apax have signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Lutech (Lutech), an IT services, software and technology company in Italy, from One Equity Partners, a middle market private equity firm.  The financial terms of the transaction, which are subject to applicable regulatory approvals, have not been disclosed.    Founded in 2001, Lutech is a leading Italian IT services and solutions provider, designing and enabling digital transformation and innovative enterprise technologies for private and public-sector clients. Global law firm White & Case has advised funds advised by Triton on the acquisition of ACRE, a leading end-to-end security solutions provider. “Our role advising Triton on its acquisition of ACRE follows its successful sale of DSI Underground at the end of 2020, on which we also advised, and demonstrated the strengths of our transatlantic capabilities,” says White & Case partner Ian Bagshaw, who led the Firm’s deal team. Lead generation technology company, ROI Media UK, has acquired Copenhagen-headquartered, Firstborn Capital.   Firstborn Capital provides digital marketing and lead generation in the fintech space, with a focus on unsecured consumer loans and bank loans through partnerships with leading financial companies and banks. The deal adds SEK9 million of annual revenue for ROI and is the company’s second acquisition since growth capital investor BGF backed the business with a total of GBP7 million investment. BGF invested GBP3 million in June 2020 and a further GBP4 million in January 2021.     The funding was raised to support the company’s expansion
