Private equity firm OpenGate Capital is to acquire the amphoteric surfactant manufacturing business from Solvay. The acquisition is subject to the satisfaction of works council consultations and regulatory approvals.The Business is a key player in surfactants, with a focus on the production of amphoterics primarily utilised in body care, hair care, and home care products. Approximately 175 employees are part of the Business and it also includes three main production sites located in: University Park, Illinois USA; Halifax, UK; Genthin, Germany; and a tolling business in Turkey.

IT solutions provider Computer Design & Integration (CDI), a portfolio company of middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP), has completed the acquisition of High Availability (HA), a solution provider and integrator of data centre, networking, security, mobility, collaboration and cloud strategy products and services. Financial terms of the private transaction have not been disclosed.

Hector Rail, a private freight train owner and operator in Scandinavia, with a growing platform in Germany, has raised a SEK519 million financing package from a group of leading European commercial lenders to refinance its existing debt.
