Queen’s Park Equity (QPE) has held final close of its debut fund, Queen’s Park Equity Partners I, LP. The Fund was oversubscribed and closed at its hard cap of GBP185 million of third-party institutional commitments, exceeding the GBP150 million target.
The strong investor support for the Fund, the sole UK first-time fund raised entirely during the CV-19 pandemic, came from international institutions including endowments, foundations, family offices, pension funds and fund-of-funds, as well as from the QPE founders’ network of highly experienced, sector specific ambassadors.

Specialist Risk Group (SRG), a fast-growing specialist insurance broker, has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by leading middle-market private equity firm HGGC.
SRG’s management team will invest alongside HGGC and continue to hold a significant stake in the business. The private transaction is expected to close in Q1 2021, subject to regulatory approval. As part of the transaction, existing investor Pollen Street Capital will exit the business.

Through this investment valuing the company at more than half a billion dollars, Zipari will combine with Healthx, a provider of trusted healthcare engagement technologies, to create the leading CX platform and solutions for health insurance payers and third-party administrators. StarCompliance (Star), a provider of employee compliance and regulatory technology solutions to the financial services industry, has secured a majority-control, growth equity investment from Marlin Equity Partners (Marlin).
The transaction enables Star to further expand its leadership position within the global compliance market by accelerating product innovation and supporting the company’s ongoing international expansion. Luminate Capital Partners (Luminate), the company’s majority shareholder since 2017, will retain a minority stake.

Paxos, a regulated blockchain infrastructure platform, has closed a USD142 million Series C round of funding.
Declaration Partners, the investment firm backed by the family office of David M Rubenstein, led the round, which includes investments from Mithril Capital, PayPal Ventures, RIT Capital Partners plc, Ken Moelis, Alua Capital, Senator Investment Group and more. Previous Paxos investors also participated in the round, including RRE Ventures and Liberty City Ventures. To date, Paxos has raised more than USD240 million in funding.

Odyssey Investment Partners (Odyssey) is to acquire Protective Industrial Products Inc (PIP), a global supplier of personal protective equipment (PPE) and industrial safety products, from Audax Private Equity.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

European software investor Hg has made an investment in Geomatikk Group (Geomatikk), a tech-enabled services provider, managing critical ‘check-before-you-dig’ safety assessments to network owners, contractors and consulting engineers within Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Hg will support Geomatikk with its extensive experience in scaling tech champions across Europe. Hg will become the majority investor, with founders and management remaining as significant investors in the business. The full terms of the transaction are not disclosed and closing is subject to obtaining relevant regulatory approvals.
