European private equity deal volume dipped in Q2 2020 to its lowest quarterly figure since Q3 2013 driven by the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, Pitchbook’s Q2 report shows.

CenterOak Partners’ portfolio company Service Champions has acquired ABC Cooling Heating & Plumbing (ABC), a provider of residential air conditioning and plumbing repair services headquartered in Hayward, California. ABC has provided high quality service to homeowners across the greater East Bay metropolitan area for over 65 years.
This transaction marks Service Champion’s fifth acquisition since CenterOak completed a majority investment in May 2019 and expands Service Champion’s residential service agreement base to over 45,000 across the state of California.

Evertas, a cryptoasset insurance company, has completed a USD2.8 million seed stage funding round. The funding round was led by Morgan Creek, who were joined by Plug n Play, Kailash Ventures, RenGen, Vy Capital and Wavemaker Genesis. Mark Yusko, Founder, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Morgan Creek Capital Management & Managing Partner of Morgan Creek Digital Assets, has joined Evertas’ Board of Directors.

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has become the first US university to invest in Cosimo Ventures’s new, blockchain-focused tokenised fund, Cosimo X.
Based in Boston and Dublin, Cosimo Ventures is an investment firm focused on deep tech companies. This is the first time that any university in the US has invested directly in a tokenised venture fund.
