Los Angeles Fire & Police Pensions has committed an additional allocation totalling $190 million to four alternative investment funds, according to a report by Pensions & Investments Online.
WestView Capital Partners, a Boston-based growth equity firm, has closed its oversubscribed fifth fund, WestView Capital Partners V (Fund V), at its target and hard cap of $1.0 billion of limited partner commitments.Â
Ares Management Corporation has held the final closing of its Infrastructure Debt Fund V, which is focused on making subordinated investments across the digital, utilities, renewables, energy and transportation sectors, at approximately $5.0 billion.
Asset management boutique Bellevue is launching its maiden investment fund focussed on the private equity secondaries market. The launch comes on the back of Bellevue’s dedicated secondaries team, consisting of Chris Davies, Steven Kroese and Lars Honegger, commencing operations on 1 December.
The fund has a global remit and is primarily active in the US and Europe with target return Bellvue describes as “comparable to primary buyout funds”.
Davies, Kroese and Honegger are supported by Jan Kollros, Head of Bellevue’s Private Markets unit and the CEO of its independent adbodmer subsidiary.
Stafford Capital Partners, an international private markets investment and advisory group, has launched Stafford Infrastructure Secondaries Fund V, its fifth infrastructure secondaries vehicle.
Alternative investment manager Stonepeak Partners is looking to raise $2.5 billion (€2.3 billion) for its new infrastructure fund, which will target investment opportunities in North American and Europe, according to a report by IP&E Real Assets.
The report cites an investors meeting document as revealing that the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana (Louisiana Teachers) has approved a $50 million commitment to the new Stonepeak Opportunities Fund.
The fund is already in the process of acquiring a 50% interest in the Key Access Pipeline System, with the acquisition expected to complete by the end of the current quarter.
Former fund managers from KKR & Co and British International Investment Plc are planning to raise up to $250 million for a new fund that will invest in technology-focused startups in India, according to a report by Reuters.
Ajay Candade, who until recently led KKR’s growth tech business in India, and Nikhil Balaraman, who was previously head of South Asia tech investment at BII, are the co-founders of venture capital fund, Fractal Growth Partners (FGP), which according to unnamed sources, will look to make ‘scale-up’ investments of between $10 million and $15 million in companies that have moved past the
British Patient Capital and Mubadala Investment Company, an Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor, have a made a co-investment in the SV Biotech Crossover Opportunities Fund (SV BCOF) through the UK’s Life Sciences Investment Programme, a £200 million initiative launched in 2021 to support the growth of UK life sciences businesses.
Blue Owl Capital has held the final close of Dyal Capital Partners V (Fund V), the latest in its portfolio of GP Capital Solutions funds, with $12.9 billion of capital commitments, almost $4.0 billion larger than the team’s previous vehicle.Â
Cleavemoor, a consumer sector investment advisor, has launched Cleavemoor 10, a new open ended hybrid vehicle employing the firm’s proprietary Agile Horizon Strategy, which combines a consumer sector long/short public equities portfolio with longer-term consumer private equity investments.
