Northill Capital has completed its acquisition of a majority equity interest in Strategic Investment Group, previously held by FFL Partners. Inflexion Private Equity has acquired Times Higher Education (THE) from TPG Capital (TPG), the global private equity platform of alternative asset firm TPG. Argonaut Private Equity, a Tulsa-based private equity fund, has invested in Mammoth Carbon Products, a Houston-based pipeline distribution company. Mammoth is an industry leader in carbon steel pipe distribution and services for the energy infrastructure markets. Established in 2014, Mammoth currently services the North American market focusing in Texas and Colorado. Construction Partners, a civil infrastructure company specialising in the construction and maintenance of roadways across five Southeastern states, has completed two acquisitions in Florida – Liquid Asphalt Terminal and Asphalt, and Ready-Mixed Concrete Company – for the aggregate purchase price of approximately USD19 million, paid entirely from cash on hand.  CPI expects to make customary capital improvements for both acquired businesses, but does not anticipate these expenditures to be material.       CPI acquired a liquid asphalt terminal located in Panama City, Florida. RDCP Care has acquired the entire elderly care business of Birmingham-based elderly care operator Dignus Healthcare Group in a deal supported by an eight figure funding package structured by Allied Irish Bank (AIB). Dignus Healthcare was formed in 2006, and since then has been providing award-winning support and care services for individuals with mental health conditions and learning disabilities. Ogier’s Hong Kong team has advised on the launch of the USD300 million Cybernaut New Frontier Venture Fund focusing on Chinese start-up companies in AI and fintech. A team led by partner Kate Hodson and including associate Alan Wong advised New Frontier Capital Management on the Cayman law aspects of the fund launch.   The fund is managed by Cybernaut New Frontier Co. Limited which is jointly managed by leading Chinese VC firm Cybernaut Investment Group and New Frontier Capital Management (which is partially owned by Mizuho Securities and is the strategic partner of Mizuho Securities’ private equity business).  
Jacana has completed the first-ever international export of Jamaican medical cannabis flower, having raised USD205 million to develop and distribute certified medical cannabis solutions. The investment will be used to drive international expansion and build on Jacana’s existing presence in Europe, North America and the Caribbean.   With a global team located in Jamaica, Canada and the UK, Jacana is a specialist in the outdoor cultivation and distribution of medical cannabis. Dentons has advised Martin Møller, the founder of Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), on Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC’s significant minority investment in NAC. NAC currently has a fleet of 480 aircraft with a value of USD8.3 billion. Martin Møller and EQT VI formed a partnership in 2015 which has since transformed NAC from being a lessor focused on turboprop aircraft, to being the world’s largest regional aircraft lessor and the fourth largest commercial aircraft leasing company.   GIC is a global investor with significant aircraft leasing experience and the transaction will be executed by an affiliate of GIC.   Nicholas

Since acquiring Hydreco in 2008 from US industrial conglomerate, Textron, CBC has developed and broadened Hydreco’s range of products and expanded their market presence.
