Employee benefits and pensions consultants and independent trustee business Broadstone Group, a portfolio company of private equity firm Livingbridge, has acquired Liverpool-based CS Financial Solutions (CSFS), including CS Trustees.
The acquisition is another significant step for Broadstone as it strengthens and extends its competitive offering in the employee benefits consulting sector.
CSFS, a specialist employee benefits consultancy, will become a fully integrated part of the Broadstone Group and will help serve the combined group’s burgeoning client base across the UK and internationally, through the Assurex Global network. Private equity firm Permira is to make an investment in Hana, in partnership with the founders and the management, who will substantially re-invest in the company. The transaction sees TA Associates, which was the first institutional investor in Hana, exit its investment.
Founded in 2012 by Laurent Boukobza and Jacques Attal, Hana is a global provider of freshly prepared sushi “on the go” through its 900 points of sale in grocery retailers across 12 markets. Its core geographies are the United States and France. In addition, Hana operates in the UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Czech Republic, Romania and Luxembourg.
Ironwood Capital has exited its investment in Dancing Deer Baking Company, a manufacturer of all-natural cookies and cakes, based in Boston, Massachusetts. The company was purchased by Hudson River Foods.
Incorporated in April 1994 to provide high quality baked goods to accompany the growing market for gourmet coffee, Dancing Deer has grown from a small commercial bakery to an award-winning manufacturer of specialty cakes and cookies, and online purveyor of gourmet gift packages for businesses and individuals.

Baffin Bay Networks, a cloud-native cyber security specialist, has acquired US data security business Loryka, which focuses on botnet and IoT research.
Baffin Bay Networks, its team hailing from major US security enterprises and Nordic banks, launched its cloud-based threat prevention service in 2017. This acquisition is the latest milestone following the company’s USD6.4 million Series A investment last year, led by EQT Ventures, accelerating its global expansion.

CloseCross, a multi-party, decentralised derivatives trading platform in beta, has opened its investment round with USD3 million backed by Amnis Ventures, a privately owned venture fund based in Houston, Texas.
The investment puts CloseCross at a post-money valuation of USD60 million.
CloseCross is committed to a disruption of the current financial derivatives market by deploying patented multi-party settlement mechanisms and proprietary algorithms. Its aim is to create a derivatives environment where market participants enter collective smart contracts instead of traditional one-to-one contracts. CloseCross’ testnet application is currently available in beta in 140 countries across both iOS and Android platforms.
dv01, an end-to-end data management, reporting and analytics platform offering loan level transparency and insight into lending markets, has raised USD15 million in Series B funding, led by Pivot Investment Partners.

Investcorp, a global provider and manager of alternative investment products, has launched operations in India with the imminent completion of its first deal, the acquisition of the Private Equity and Real Estate investment management businesses of IDFC Alternatives Limited (IDFC Alternatives), a subsidiary of IDFC Limited.
The acquisition, which has already received the required regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Board of India, is expected to close on 31 January 2019. This transaction will mark Investcorp’s entry into India and is in line with the firm’s long-term strategy of expanding its investment footprint and client franchise globally.

Bipsync, a research platform provider for investment management firms, has secured USD7 million in a growth investment round led by Edison Partners. FINTOP Capital also participated in the round.
Proceeds will be used to expand Bipsync’s global footprint and accelerate product innovation, customer success initiatives, and sales and marketing operations.
