GCM Grosvenor, a global provider of alternative asset management solutions, has appointed Martin Laguerre as Co-Head of Global Diversified Private Equity, joining Bernard Yancovich in overseeing the firm’s diversified private equity practice.
In this new role, Laguerre will leverage the firm’s sourcing network to build on its three-decade history in private equity investing. GCM Grosvenor currently manages $30bn in private equity assets.
Laguerre brings 25 years of experience in private equity, capital solutions, and infrastructure, with a proven ability in direct deal execution, portfolio management, and capital allocation across global markets.
Most recently, Laguerre served as a Senior Advisor at Warburg Pincus. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Private Equity and Capital Solutions at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), where he led a global team managing a CAD55bn private markets portfolio.
His career also includes leadership and investment roles at CPP Investments and General Electric, along with early experience in investment banking with DLJ/Credit Suisse and Lehman Brothers.
Laguerre holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Management Science from McGill University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, and earned an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
