Gen Cap America makes three exits in December

Gen Cap America, a private equity firm focused on lower middle-market buyouts, sold three of its portfolio companies in the final month of 2017: Thomas Pipe and Supply sold to Winsupply Inc; Air Transport Components (ATC) sold to Holder Family Investments and its partners; and International Systems of America (ISA) sold to Align Capital Partners.

Terms of the transactions have not been disclosed.

“These three companies represent the latest iterations of our firm’s long history and successful track record,” says Barney Byrd, President of Gen Cap. “Our business model is built upon our ability to successfully provide liquidity and exit opportunities for business owners and managers of lower middle-market companies, while partnering with continuing management to identify and execute the company’s future growth.”

Thomas Pipe & Supply is a Phoenix-based distributor of industrial pipe, valves and fittings (PVF) to the MRO and industrial markets. Founded in 1983, Thomas Pipe has grown to be the largest PVF distributor in the state of Arizona and has enjoyed consistently strong performance through innovation, product line expansion, industry-leading customer service and a superior operating model.

ATC was founded in 1998 and provides repair and overhaul services for components and accessories found on both commercial and military air transport aircraft. Based in Gilbert, Ariz., ATC is an EASA and FAA-certified repair station that performs its own repairs, quality control tests and refinishing inside its new 62,000-square-foot facility. Gen Cap acquired ATC in April of 2010, when it partnered with management to buyout the previous owner.

ISA was founded in 1985 and provides inspection, maintenance and repair services and sells new, repaired and remanufactured parts for energy management, building automation, and fire and security systems. Gen Cap America invested in ISA in September of 2010 when they partnered with company CEO, Mike Epperson, to buyout the previous owner.
